Il progetto di un tributo a Rory Gallagher nasce nel 2007 dalla grande passione del cantante-chitarrista Thomas Guiducci (34 anni, già frontman della Rock Band "The Charters") per il bluesman irlandese. Dopo aver per lungo tempo cercato musicisti per dar vita al proprio sogno, al Centro Jazz Torino conosce Roberto Tatoni (43 anni, bassista di esperienza con all'attivo numerose collaborazioni in varie formazioni torinesi) e Daniele Grasso (27 anni, promettente batterista blues con un background musicale poliedrico) e con loro comincia a lavorare alla stesura e alla preparazione del repertorio. Si aggiunge ben presto al piano elettrico l’amico Stefano Chiappo (35 anni, già cantante e tastierista di Sattamassagana e Marcellus Pipe) che diventerà il tastierista ufficiale della band. Il batterista dopo il primo anno di concerti live deve abbandonare per sopraggiunti impegni lavorativi e viene sostituito a tutti gli effetti da Piero Supino(41 anni) , batterista grintoso dalla grande esperienza.
Il progetto viene denominato Irish Taste, ovvero "Sapore d'Irlanda". Il nome è frutto di un mix tra "Irish Tour" (uno degli album fondamentali della discografia di Rory Gallagher al quale la band si è ispirata per sonorità ed atmosfere) e "Taste" (la prima storica Band di Rory Gallagher). Dopo una lunga preparazione il progetto è stato presentato “Live” ufficialmente presso lo storico locale torinese “Il Magazzino di Gilgamesh” ed è ora pronto per essere portato in giro con un repertorio (circa due ore di musica) che si snoda tra pezzi storici e pezzi più "moderni" della produzione di Rory Gallagher, prosegue con dei flashback nella produzione dei Taste ed alterna momenti di puro Rock a parti più strettamente Blues con intermezzi acustici dal sapore folkeggiante. Anche la strumentazione utilizzata è frutto di uno studio approfondito delle sonorità Gallagheriane con particolare attenzione a chitarre ed amplificazioni. Lo stile della band è improntato al più classico canovaccio del Rock-Blues di stampo britannico per un risultato di sicuro impatto.
The Rory Gallagher tribute project was created by Thomas Guiducci (34, singer and guitar player) in 2007. He loves very much Rory Gallagher and his wonderful Rock-Blues music and he wanted to try finding other musicians that likes to play Rory's music. After a while he knows Roberto Tatoni (43, very good Bass Player wiht a lot of experiece) and Piero Supino (talented blues drummer) at the "Centro Jazz Torino" (an italian Jazz and Blues musich school in Turin) and they start to working at the project with Stefano Chiappo (35, ex Sattamassagana and now Marcellus Pipe piano player) . Now, after a first live show in wich they have presented the music project they are ready to continue this wonderful adventure and to trying keep Rory's music alive even in Italy.
The band name was inspired by Rory's great album Irish Tour and by the first band (The Taste); the mix creates the name: Irish Taste.
The Live Show is a 2 hour trip in the historic Rory songs thath starts from earliest albums to Irish Tour, from a little flasback in the "Taste" music to an acoustic break and more...
The instruments are chosed to reproduce the Rory sound (especially guitars and amplifiers). The band style is a mix of rock energy and blues "mood" made to remember a great irish musician.
