Who I'd like to meet: The Strong Brothers
Rider and Shiloh Strong began doing plays when they were 5 and 6 years old. It wasn’t long before they donned homemade top hats and did terrible magic shows for birthday parties. Luckily, that phase didn’t last long, and the brothers soon entered the professional film and television world. By their teens, they were both regulars on TV series at the same time: Shiloh on NBC’s The Mommies and Rider on ABC’s Boy Meets World. They have worked steadily for the last 18 years in a variety of genres and formats. In addition to their acting, they produced Shiloh’s play Shades of Blue in Los Angeles, for which he won a Dramalogue award for writing at the age of 16. In 2000, they produced and starred in the indie Buck Naked Arson, which won a Gold Award at Houston Worldfest and Best Dramatic feature at Angelciti. Rider starred in Eli Roth’s Cabin Fever, which became an international success and cult favorite. He was covered in blood again for the After Dark release Borderland, and will suffer more in Cabin Fever 2. After guest stints on 24 and CSI, Shiloh starred in The Mirror, an indie film that recently wrapped in Los Angeles. Rider holds a B.A. from Columbia University and is pursuing his writing M.F.A. at Bennington College. Shiloh is an alumnus of the Powerhouse Theater apprenticeship program and is currently studying at the Brooks Institute of Photography. Neither brother does magic anymore. Thank God.
