IRONMITH
While still in his early twenties, Tim Jaggers musical aspirations have stretched over a decade. From learning classical music on the piano and flute, to his fathers influences of classical and Latin guitar, Tim developed a passion for music and a talent for composing at a young age. Interest in electronic music as a young teenager set him up for falling in love with hip hop when he first heard Big Punisher played in a grade 10 English class studying various forms of poetry. As a young storyteller, Tim started to translate his fictional stories into songs with beats he made in his home studio.
Moving to BC from Ontario at age 17 introduced him to a whole new style of hip hop and he quickly developed a group of friends with similar talents in urban music. Performing with his posse and on his own, Tim found himself in a range of venues from full arenas to small clubs. Whether he was opening for acts from the States or as the headliner, Tims passion for rapping has always translated into connection with his audience and an energetic performance.
As a perfectionist and self-motivated artist, Tim has already completed his first album released in March 2004. Tim has been recording with his producer Ben Cividino of Madhouse Studios for the past two years and has simultaneously been recording in his home studio transferring the lessons he has learned at Madhouse to his independent work. With 7 songs completed for his next album Tim is ardently creating new beats and lyrics, endeavoring to bring positive messages to the urban marketplace.
While the world of hip hop often tells stories of the crazy things that happen on the street for a lot of kids, I want to let them know that theres more to life than revenge and greed. Im not much of a philosopher, but I do believe that positive attitudes and words can change peoples perspectives for the better.
