Founded in 2005 by Cobalt, Cras, and Waylay, The Irregular Operations squad (IROPS- also known as "the Secret Squirrels") is a group of adrenaline-junkies who join in combat honestly and safely with other teams as part of the sport of Airsoft.

IROPS operators are extremely dangerous and yet surprisingly approachable. IROPS conducts irregular warfare (intrusion, recon, sniping, sabotage, intelligence/counter intelligence) in any terrain and circumstance... at a time and place of their choosing; relying on stealth, speed, and ferocity to accomplish objectives.

(Participation in airsoft is not an advocacy for any particular political stance, or for the application of real violence. IROPS respects the men and women who wear the uniform -even in politically charged times- and are not interested in pretending they are anything more than hobbyists.)

Who I'd like to meet:

IROPS recruits by invite only. For consideration, Recruits must-

*Be 18+, 21+ preferred.
*Possess their own safety and hydration gear;
*Possess any m4 mag equipped AEG primary weapon of quality manufacture, maintained in good order; (a primary for woodland and one for CQB is recommended)
*Possess 4 or 5w UHF Radio and functional Headset.
(Uniform requirements are typically suspended until a person is a full member, but include
*white for winter,
*approved skull mask for night/Heavy ops,
*Original VietNam Tiger for summer,
*Original Desert Tiger for spring and fall. No substitutes accepted.
Other camo patterns may be required by specific event planners. (Gear must be Coyote Brown or OD.)
*potential recruits MUST have attended a minimum of 2 neasg sanctioned MILSIM events- on at least two different NEASG approved fields;
*Register an easy to use screen name and call sign (preferably the same!) with www.neasg.org
and display this name on their persons at least once in a visible manner (jacket, vest, or helmet/hat)
All potential recruits must-
Display proficiency in-
*Safety/field rules
*Camouflage,
*Marksmanship,
*Teamwork and communications,
*and most importantly an attitude of safety, professionalism, fun, and fair play.
*Attendance in a milsim, squad tactics training event sanctioned by MAASF or NEASG, especially MSATO/BLACKSHEEP6 is EXTREMELY recommended

THEN, candidates must pass acceptance by all standing members. This ensures interoperability and equity. Operator Training Course(s) (up to OTC1, 2 and 3) follows at an undisclosed location.

Membership can be revoked at any time by leadership for dishonorable, deceitful, disrespectful, or dangerous behavior.
Membership benefits include overcaffeinated squirrel patch, access to squirrel only intel, kickass NUTS t-shirts, access to secret squirrel ops and bases; and membership in a quasi-elite group known for a high level of fair and fun play.

TEAM LORE-IROPS stands for “Irregular Operations.” IROPS wears Original VietNam Tigerstripe for it's unique pattern, elite history, and utility. During browner months, IROPS wears Desert Tiger Stripe for the same reasons.
