We provide an opportunity for artists to display their work in a publication format and do something a bit different from their regular studio practice.
Impulsive Random Platform or IRP is a London based art zine/ publication, made by graduates from the Slade School of Fine Art, since May 2007. IRP acts as both, an extension of its creator’s studio practices, and a means for invited, emerging artists of all disciplines to display and promote their work via an alternative, experimental and accessible format; and also provides the opportunity for selected artists to create work which is different from their regular creative practice. With each issue, IRP endeavours to diversify its publishing activities within and in addition to its regular A5 B+W zine format (through the inclusion of hand-rendered pages, colour images, DVD and CD supplements and specially commissioned artist prints, etc.); and also apply its spontaneous and DIY curatorial approach to other mediums and events such as video screenings and live performances. IRP is produced by Alexander Bates, Rachel Ichniowski and Kala Newman.
