The Irvine Infoshop is a vehicle for the production and dissemination of radical and anarchist literature throughout Orange County and the Southern California region. Based out of UCI, it is also a means for promoting radical discourse on campus and organizing projects around the ideas of direct action and mutual aid.
Current projects include organizing a Radical Student Union and a campus chapter of Food Not Bombs. We are also hosting events with Earth First in February and are planning counter-education events in conjunction with former Mexican President Vicente Fox's visit to campus in April. In the long term, we are looking to find a physical location for an infoshop or radical bookstore/library, along with a community garden.
We are firmly opposed to all forms of oppression, domination, and exploitation, including patriarchy, white supremacy, heteronormativity, transphobia, ableism, speciesism, capitalism, and imperialism.
