Isaac Hayden - "Shine On"
Parachute Video and brief interview. St. George, Utah
I love watching movies. My friends say I have the worst taste in movies ever, but I don't care... I'll watch anything if I've never seen it before. I love driving. The scenery is constantly changing which helps my A.D.D. (self diagnosed), and sometimes I need a place to listen to the same song for hours without bothering anyone, ya know? Some songs are just like that. I'm constantly struggling with music... when I hear a beautiful song, it is a mixture of pain, beauty, and fascination that draw me in. Pain because I sometimes wish I could've written it. Beauty because it makes me dream. Fascination because of how my soul reacts. There are somethings we just can't understand.
I'm more introvert than extravert, though the right situations seem to bring out my crazy side. I used to be more athlete than artist and the transition is tough at times. I write music constantly. Most of it seems to be about love, which is ironic :-)
Other than music, I love to be outdoors, love to travel, love to meet people, make friends. I love to play old school Nintendo and Ping Pong. Kicking it with my boys and having a couple of beers around a card table is fantastic. My mother is an artist, but even my stick figures are ugly. I think this quote is fantastic for people who are pursuing their dreams: "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds." -Einstein. Life scares me. But it also excites me. Death is the one thing in this world I think people will never be able to truly argue about, cause seriously, who really knows what happens?
Movies: Braveheart, Outside Providence, Layer Cake, If Lucy Fell, High Fidelity, Cool Hand Luke, Slap Shot, Willow.
Songs: 'A Better Place to Be' -Harry Chapin. 'Last Goodbye' and 'So Real' -Jeff Buckeley. Anything by Martin Sexton and Stevie Wonder. Lots of Damien Rice tunes.

With interesting melodic and vocal hooks, Isaac's playing and writing shows that he has an ability to write and play in a style that avoids the ordinary and the clichd. He very much writes and plays from the heart and comments from his fans support this claim.

This whole album is awesome for a first album. I put it away for while to see if I would change my mind on my initial opinion I still feel the same way. perfect when your working, visiting, dinner music, n just chillin. " I saw Isaac Hayden in Tucson at Plush last Sunday and I have been listening to this CD practically non-stop since then. Isaac is one of those talented musicians that manages to speak to you musically and spiritually on so many different levels that you cannot help but want to listen over and over again. The guitar and piano are beautiful and his voice is, well, angelic:). Buy it - you won't regret it - I can promise that. If you like Jack Johnson, Tracy Chapman, etc - they're nothing next to Isaac's music. Enjoy:)" -- Magda
" This cd is a must have. one that should be in everyone's collection. the emotion of the lyrics combined with the voice of the guitar, it is simply amazing. Again, this cd is a must have. Completely brilliant." -- Eriq
