Yes I like the telly, it makes arranging the lounge easier because all the furniture points at the telly, giving the room a nice focal point.
Books
For comedy influences, Anita Loos is one of my greatest heroines, she writes touchingly innocent comedy straight from the mouths of babes, Dorothy in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is her greatest creation. Ripping Yarns by Michael Palin and Terry Jones is a brilliant book to dip into.
I am an Iris Murdoch obsessive, and I collect the original penguin editions (if anyone has any!) I am a true girly girl I'm afraid, so also Rosamund Lehemann, Nancy Mitford, E M Forster, L P Hartley, Anita Brookner (for when I feel sad) I am quite obsessive about how I arrange my books, and like to lay the shelves out like a book shop, with my favorite covers facing out.
I love cooking so Delia and Nigella are genuine goddesses to me If you want something baked, I'm your gal. It may not come out quite as expected but I do find it deeply satisfying taking something that has risen from the oven wearing high heels and a floral pinny. I have recently accomplished my first Apple Betty.
Isabel! Hope filming went well,be seeing you in August, have another friend that wants to leaflet and we are coming through the first week of the festival. :-)

Dear Chuckle Chum Thank you from within the inner depths of my blackened and despairing heart for your kind offer of friendship. I look forward to many a cold winter's night of madcap mayhem and misadventures where we frolic naked and joyful in the expression of our budding and beautiful friendship.
Sadly no Edinburgh for us at all this year. I say "sadly", but I'm actually very happy about it. Will have to come and see one of your previews. Will consult with that Zena.
How are you? We've been looking at photos of your wedding on Facebook (which you should join - it's what all the cool kids are doing). CONGRATULATIONS! Love the outfit.
Hope to see you soon. Are you allowed out now you are married?
