Isabel Novela was born in Mozambique in a musical talented family.when she was 5 years old she came in contact with music and she developed a big passion for the arts.
When she was 10 she recorded her first solo song,that made part in a children music CD compilation. Since 1997 she started singing as backvocal in different groups, singing different styles of music and rhytems,participating as well in recordings, festivals,TV programs ...
From 2002 she started writting and composing her own songs.
Recently she recorded the album New Dawn with her 3 brothers and sister in Holland,check www.Neconovellas.com
Composing music & singing is one of her biggest passions in her life. She writes her lyrics in English, Portuguese and Chopi/Changana (the native dialect of the area where her tribe, the Chopi people, originally come from in Mozambique ).
Her music can be best described as a combination of HipHop, R&B, Jazz, Rap ,Brasilian, Soul, Latin & Nu soul . Her African roots mixed with these different influences is something really special.
When she sings she moves from one style to another and she sings with her soul. Her Lyrics and sweet/smooth/strong voice brings up to the listeners different emotions and feelings. You can Dance/Sing/Cry/Think/Feel or just listen.
“I believe you dont always have to understand the lyrics of the song to be involved,my goal is to touch people with my music ” she says.
