Born in NYC, a lover of words and music, Isabel started singing her favorite Lou Rawl songs at 6 and took to the piano in her teens. A poetry-fan, she's been touched by poetry writers ranging from Suzanne Vega to Pablo Neruda.
After going to Cornell University & Mannes College of Music, Isabel joined New York's music scene as a back-up singer for a veteran rock band, The Defenders. Deeply inspired, Isabel started penning songs for her own band, Isabel and The Whispers.
A band that's toured New York City venues for several years, Isabel and The Whispers have put out an EP of original, pop/folk songs, and have finished work on a longer album released last summer 2008.
As a soloist, Isabel has performed under the auspice of New York's acclaimed Singer-Songwriter Sessions, and with her band at venues including Don Hill's and Kenny's Castaways. A believer in music and healing, she is also a performer for Musicians on Call and Lifebeat's Hearts and Voices, which bring music to patients and residents at health centers.
The band's self-entitled album, Isabel and The Whispers, is now available to order on CDBaby.com and downloadable on iTunes.
