Influences
I'm a CD collector, so if I buy your album that means your music/words/voice etc.. is influencing me somehow so you deserve to be in my 'influences section'! So I'd like to thank you all for inspiring me! :o]
iSandi AKA Sandrine Gouriou, A French artist: singer/songwriter/producer/DJ, born in Nantes.
The story behind the passion.
'I studied Fashion Design/Stylist for 6 years. I moved to London to pursue my career in fashion and get a job in the industry but was soon disappointed by the result, so decided to launch myself into my second passion: Music… And never looked back!
The first step.
My 1st experience was as a singer of an Indie band called PICTURE CENTER
created by the ex Field Mice drummer Mark Dobson, and his younger brother Dominic. We gigged around London and recorded two EPs and one album together you can listen to here http://profile.myspace.com/picturecenter
I then felt the urge to write my own words and compose my own music, so joined Pascal Jesset, a French musician, in 1995 and started working on some Electronica tracks under the name of Carpe Diem. Pascal decided a year and a half later to stop composing music to become a father.
The dreams come true.
I had to start looking for a new member to work with, then I met Steven Young in 1997 who took over the music production of the Carpe Diem. As a duo, we first did a few gigs around London, then around the UK.
We decided to change the name of the band into Seize The Day.
We self-released on our record label KICHIGAI RECORDS a E.P. in 1999 called: Blades, then finally we changed our name into SEIZE the Electronica/Breakbeat band. You can also listen to on http://www.myspace.com/seize.
1999, Steven and I created a side project called Spermwhale. We wanted to do a Dark side of SEIZE, influenced by the likes of Nine Inch Nails, The Prodigy, Aphex Twin, Depeche Mode and The Chemicals Brothers We did few gigs in the UK and Germany, then changed the name to O.V.N.I. You can hear on http://www.myspace.com/ovni
The achievement.
In 2000, we also self-released our debut album called Lunacy then we took Rosie Harris on board to play live gigs with us, she plays keyboards, bass guitar and does the backing vocals.
November 2003 saw the release of our second album, ‘The Other Side Of Your Mind‘. It was released by a Belgium based independent label called Alfa Matrix. You can also find on this page:
http://www.alfa-matrix.com/bio_seize.php‘The Other Side Of Your Mind’ reached to number 8 on the German Alternative Chart. (D.A.C.)
2005 was a very busy and successful year for [SEIZE] as we went on tour with Steve Strange of Visage under the name of VISAGE II.
I still work occasionally with Steve Strange, we do Live PA and TV appearances together such as ASHES TO ASHES, GOLDEN POP and so on.

I also collaborated with various international artists such as:
Glis ‘Love I So Despise‘Paralle Project ‘Failure’ Greenhaus ‘It’s That Time Of The Year‘
We released O.V.N.I. debut album in 2005 through Alfa Matrix. http://www.alfa-matrix.com/bio_ovni.php
With [SEIZE] we also did remixes for various artists such as In The Nursery, Glis, Mnemonic, Sleepthief featuring Kirsty Hawshaw, Mind In A Box, Trauma Pet, Monochrome.

Today 2009

[SEIZE] is currently finalising the cover of our 3rd album called ‘Constant Fight’. [SEIZE] has now two new members, Michel on drums and Ellie on guitar and keyboards.
The future.

Hi! Im promoting my music video for "Broke like a ..." track.

Dear friends, Just few seconds to inform you that my new progressive- trance single “Lost in Your Mind” is out now on the main digital stores, iTunes and Amazon included. I invite you to listen it on my profile. It's welcome your feedback Cheers Francesco
Helo, iSandi I hope everything’s going great. I haven’t been too inspired in the last weeks but, finally, I have something new to present: It’s a remix of the commercial track ‘Tanto’ (‘So Much’ in English) featured by the Mexican band Azara (www. myspace. com/azara) who will be performing in Spain next month. My remix is not exactly to jump as mad on the dancefloors cos it’s only at 120 bpm but, anyway, it’s cool for… maybe relaxing :-) About its style it is a kind of electro-trance but you know I’m a mess talking about styles. Whatever feedback, idea you have to improve it, etc will be always welcome. Then, if you think I deserve your vote in thedjlist (I’m IRIS DEE JAY there) it will be more than welcome aswel! Hugs from me and tons of thanks!:-)
My latest release "Not Too Late / Prime Of Life (Remixes)" (including a Noel Sanger Remix) just got released on 10.02. 09 and can be bought on *Beatport* (Link).
It already got supported by many big DJs including Markus Schulz, Ernesto vs Bastian, Bobina, Jon O'Bir and many more...

Helo, iSandi and happy New Year!:-) I hope your holidays have been full of good fun. I’ve been working with my collaborations as usual and, to start a good year, now I’ve got ready a new track featured by Omeed Taheri (www. myspace. com/omeedtaheri ). This time I’m present a really drummy track, closer to electro than trance but I think good enough for dancefloors (yeah, this is an advertisement for djs too) ;-) I need to say thanks to Omeed for his hard work and, of course, asking you for your listen and feedback. If you are a member in thedjlist, I have an account there so if you think I deserve your vote I’ll be really gratefull :-) Many thanks for your reading and let’s enjoy 2009!
