Island Bay Day is an annual event that is hosted by and arranged by Kent Island Online.com - The Original and Most Viewed area website in the Mid-Shore area.

Island Bay Day began in 2007 as a benefit for the Chesapeake Bay Trust. Our first event was held outside at Luke's Grille in Stevensville. The performers were D'Vibe & Conga, Sloe Jim Matteo, The Underground Weathermen, Black Cadillac, and Rob Fahey of 80's band "The Rayvns". We had a shoe string budget, but the event went over very well and people had a blast. We raised a good amount of money for the charity as well.

In 2008 Island Bay Day was held at Hemingways right on the Chesapeake Bay. We had a professional stage and a large waterfront area full of vendors and people having fun. The charities that Island Bay Day benefitted were two local Animal Rescue charities - "A.R.F. - Animal Rescue Foundation" and Chesapeake Cats And Dogs". Performers in 2008 were Loving The Lie, Plasmagora, Black Cadillac, Sloe Jim Matteo, and Mystyk Harbor.

This year we are hosting Island Bay Day at the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center (CBEC), a non-profit group dedicated to saving the bay. It's a 500+ acre venue with ample parking and both a waterfront pavillion as well as a large indoor facility for vendors and more. Check them out at http://www.bayrestoration.org/

This year Island Bay Day will be bigger and better than ever! 14 bands on two stages for a full day of live music, plus reasonably priced beer, Woodhall Winery pouring local wine and giving samples, great food from "It's The Pits" and "American Grill" that includes crab cakes, pit beef/pork/chicken, smoked turkey legs, wraps, subs, burgers, hot dogs, shrimp salad, and much more! There will be a raffle for a signed (by Paul Reed Smith) PRS Guitar, a huge silent auction featuring autographed sports memorabilia items, a Custom Bike Show that begins at 10AM with trophies and prizes for the winning bike, concert ticket giveaways courtesy of the Rams Head Shore House, live radio broadcasts on WCEI-96.7 and WRNR-103.1, Vendors selling a variety of items and services, and much more. For kids we have Pony Rides, Sack Races, Water Balloon Tosses, a Moon Bounce, a Giant Slide, Nature Tours, a Free Child ID Kit for the first 100 kids (get there early), an Obstacle Course with a Rock Climbing Wall, Child Safety Program by the QAC Sherriff's Office, Ice Cream and Italian Ices, Soda, Water, and Juice are also available.

Island Bay Day is not only a huge fun party, but a charity event as well. This year we are helping out CBEC - The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, A.R.F. - Animal Rescue Foundation, and Chesapeake Cats And Dogs.
