Bio:

We are sad to say that we no longer are booking shows at the Islington House. As of September 1, 2010, we are all moving away from Boston. We've had a really good run, and hosted some awesome shows, and we're sad to see it go.

I'm leaving this page up to hopefully inspire and encourage folks to help fill the void our house has left in the scene. Feel free to send me an email if you want me to give you any pointers on booking house shows. (BirthquakeRecords at Gmail dot com. Don't send messages to MySpace!)

Our purpose is to provide touring and local bands with a hospitable and friendly environment to play shows. We think this is the best way to help the music community.

Any show held here will always be all-ages, and always donations-based (Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds). All donations will go towards the touring bands. All shows will be potlucks! (Vegan/allergen-free if possible!)

Unless otherwise noted, our shows will always start at 7PM and end at 11PM. (All of our neighbors are really excellent people, and they have lives and jobs, and I feel it's important to respect them and give them some peace and quiet late in the night)

NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS, PLEASE! We used to be more relaxed with this rule, but drinking and drugs are starting to cause more and more problems. This is a private home, and we ask to respect our space. Alcohol somehow always seems to get house venues shut down!

Our address is Three Islington Terrace in Allston (right behind Jackson Mann). Accessible easily via the B Train on the Green Line, the 57, 64, or 66!

BANDS WHO WANT TO PLAY:
If you want to get in contact with us, the best way to do so would be to email Maxwell at BirthquakeRecords [at] gmail [dot] com. Please don't message this MySpace with booking inquiries. If you really want to get on my good side, send me a link with a full album/EP/demo, so I don't have to listen through MySpace.

I try to reply to every email I get, but I get contacted several times a day, and I can't possibly help everyone. If I forget to get back to you, it's not because I'm trying to be a dick, I probably just forgot.

For the time being, any shows held here will have to be acoustic, with little exception. Barring a very special occasion, I'm only booking two shows a month. I would prefer to book only four acts on any given bill, with five being the absolute maximum.

If you're a touring band, we will try our best to help you out with gas money with pass-the-hat donations.

We're not really comfortable with other people booking shows here. You can send a show our way, and we'll consider taking it on, but we can't guarantee we'll be able to.

We only really book shows to help touring bands. We love to have local bands on, but we only really want to book to help support bands who REALLY NEED a show. Y'know?

If your band or it's members are homophobic, sexist, abusive, racist, violent, intolerant, drug dealers, etc, don't bother contacting us. Thanks!
