Simon was named after one of his father's favorite bands called 'Simon and Garfunkel'.
His name is very impressive, and his father wanted him to be able to play music as well. Therefore, his father took him to the music class when he was 4 years old. However, it did not last very long because he moved. So he quit going to classes, but he learned how to play the instruments by himself.
One day he used his parent's cassette player to record his music. This was the first time he made a home-recording. In high school, he started to also sing, but the first song he made was 9 minutes long so some people said it was too long. And he was often bored in most classes except music.
His turning point came when he was 20 years old. His home-recording songs and his live show gave him an opportunity to make a major debut in 2006 by Victor Entertainment. His debut song was 'Kimi Wa Yukeru' and the song was broadcast in heavy rotation in 30 major Japanese FM and AM radio stations and it was nominated to one of the top competitive awards. In Feb 20th in 2008, his 1st album 'White room' was released.
