We aim to design a T-shirt for a new band every month. More tee collaborations are in the pipeline with some very exciting names including Simian Mobile Disco and Metronomy.

We all know that a killer sleeve can sell a record without so much as a listen, but at a time when accumulating albums is as easy as pressing ‘download’ on a computer screen, the music industry’s infatuation with design (not to mention good old fashioned record collecting) is fast becoming a doomed love affair. Dismayed by the recent spate of download-only releases, designer, illustrator and vinyl enthusiast Kate Moross has taken matters into her own hands with the launch of Isomorphs, a boutique record label.
Since its launch in November 2007, Isomorphs has both repackaged existing music and discovered and released original tracks, paying attention to the aesthetic of the record and revelling in the joy of print process, high production value and most of all, the vinyl format. Never releasing digitally or printing over 500 copies, Moross describes these records as, “a series of artists prints that you can listen to.”
In its first year the label has seen releases from Cutting Pink With Knives, Hearts Revolution, Midnight Juggernauts and Apes & Androids. With each release Moross collaborates closely with the artists in order to create the definitive visual representation of their sound, that both encapsulates the bands ideas and Moross’ vision for them. Isomorphs aims to make records that every band dreams they could release.
Most of the catalogue is available online from www.isomorphs.com, they are also stocked at a number of carefully handpicked shops and boutiques from Scotland to San Fransico, including Rough Trade, Pure Groove, Collette, pop-up shops and ice-cream trucks.

Kate Moross is a designer and illustrator based in London. Despite her twenty two years, she can already count a nationwide billboard campaign for Cadbury’s and a signature clothing range for Topshop among her numerous commercial achievements not to mention profiles in Grafik magazine, Dazed, Vice and Creative Review who selected her for a Creative Future award in 2007.
Moross specialises in design and art direction for the music industry she has worked with Allido Records (Mark Ronson’s label), Merok Records, Mystery Jets, designed merchandise for Simian Mobile Disco, Telepathe, Punks Jump Up, The Teenagers and Les Petits Pilous. This year Kate Moross was named at no. 18 in the NME’s Future 50 innovators driving music forward.
