The Chronicles of Israfel is a progressive, experimental metal band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and the title of the debut solo album of Dominic Cifarelli, the former guitar player for Pulse Ultra... It is based on a fictional story written by Cifarelli, during a very uncertain and difficult period in his music career which eventually lead to the breakup of Pulse Ultra... "Starborn, Tome I" follows Israfel, the main character, in his search for a new home and the self discovery of his superior inner design. It was released in July 2007 through Bridge of Hands Entertainment, an independent arts label dedicated to the development and the distribution of original art not limited to music. It was expected to be the first of three albums to be released, along with older brother/band member Vincent Cifarelli's debut ambient record "Dream Method"... Dominic is currently in the early stages of writing the next chapter of The Chronicles Of Israfel after a hiatus from the project while playing bass for Scars On Broadway. Slick sounding instrumentals, awesome guitarwork and an interesting narrative story underlying the vocal tracks make this a must-have. I've listened to it about a dozen times in the week I got it. Still fresh and still a fun to listen to.".. 5 out of 5 "This album is really recommended ,is amazing. 100 % Recomended if you like progressive rock metal concept albums! Cheers. www.last.fm/user/aleswy".. 5 out of 5 "I read somewhere that one of the guys from Pulse Ultra had made a new album. I loved Pulse Ultra so I was curious. After some searching I managed to download it somewhere, which is the best way to get familiar with great music. And what an album it is! I just had to buy it. Great guitarwork, very ambitious project. I really love the way the album kicks off with a couple of instrumental tracks after which the story unfolds. The only thing I'm not so happy about is the fact that it comes in a dvd case. I feel it looks a bit like a demo in stead of a real album. I've been telling friends about it, CDbaby is going to get more orders from Holland!".. 4 out of 5 "This is the album I've been waiting for. Its been to long sence I could listen to a cd on repeat all day everyday.".. 5 out of 5 "This Album is amazing. 100 % Recomended if you like progressive rock metal concept albums! Cheers. www.last.fm/user/aleswy".. 5 out of 5 "Yeah, you know, I first got to know this band from illegal downloads and I must say I'm thankful because now I'm the proud owner of such a beautiful album! TCoI is Dominic Cifarelli's solo project, a guitar player I didn't know until this, to be honest. Starborn, Tome I sounds like nothing I heard before, it's just "it". Dark guitar tunes, awesome keyboard and strings arrangements, a great and catchy bass line that can be heard *always*, not like most guitar albums out there, a very efficient drumming and the vocals are flawless, they don't surprise much but they really do their job. As its name suggests, it's the first part (of three, as the author said) of the story of Israfel, a tormented boy in his travel to unveil his true self, discovering his "superior inner design". There are songs fully sang, other instrumental and the most impressive thing is Cifarelli brothers work, I mean, the guitar and keyboard are superb, what a magnificient couple, it's clear they've known each other for their entire life. "The Chronicles of Israfel: Starborn, Tome I" is much more than a progressive rock album, is an epic travel through obscure moods, violence and despair, but with a nice, sweet, addictive taste. Top 3 best discoveries last year."..

Hey guys! Come over to Facebook! I barely get on this page. All the drums are tracked for the next TCOI album, and I am excited to get started on the rest of the album here in L.A.!

I know myspace is pretty much dead now... but I'm dying to know what's going on. Anyone know what Dom's been up to? Dying to hear some new material and can't wait for the next chance to see him live some day. That rush Subdivision cover is awesome, BTW. If any of you haven't heard it already, check it out on the "New World Man" tribute to Rush.
