Alcvin Ryuzen Ramos Alcvin is one of the leading teachers and performers of the shakuhachi in the world today. Alcvin is also a composer and player of a variety of instruments and has been experimenting with new ways of playing traditional instruments as well as with synthesized and electronic music. He has taught and performed all over North America, Europe and Japan, and pursues an active solo as well as collaborative career, playing with such distinguished artists as John McLaughlin, Bill Laswell, Hun Huur Tuu Mongolian Throat Singers, Toshinori Kondo, Joseph Pepe Danza, and Uzume Taiko, and has opened for Anoushka Shankar and the Yoshida Brothers. He has recorded both classical shakuhachi music and electronic fusion pieces with the group Dharmakasa, a group he co-leads, and received a Canada Council grant in 2007 to produce a full length CD of fusion/experimental works. Now with his newest group, Isshin Denshin Atmo Ensemble, Alcvin ventures into fresh, new sonic scapes.

Kozue Matsumoto was born and raised in Japan, Kozue now lives in Vancouver. She has played koto since she was 3 years old and since koto has always been around her, Kozue says "koto is in a way a part of my body." She also plays shamisen and shinobue. She thinks it is very important to feel, as well as to think, the time, space, and nature through body, eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. One of her dreams is to connect people through her music. Kozue has performed both in Japan and Canada, including the Powell Street Festival, the Fearless Festival, and other Japanese Canadian community events etc. .
May we be happy. May we be free from suffering. May we be free from danger. May we be well in body, mind, and spirit. May we be always trust ourselves, our inner teachings, our intuitions. May we have ease in our relationships and life, and in the divine order of our being. May we feel loved, and may we be loving toward all that come before us on our path.
May we let go of criticism and judgment of ourselves and others. May we learn to accept disappointment quietly and silently. May we find gentleness joyfulness, serenity, and peace.
