"Issy & David are great - I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who loves quality folk music" VIN GARBUTT *************************************************** ************************************************************************* PETE COE says of them "a very talented trio with fine traditional & original songs & tunes, well sung with good harmonies & excellent accompaniments - I thoroughly recommend them"******************************************************************** ************************************************************************* Issy is originally from Suffolk, and moved with husband and musical partner David to Somerset in 2003, where they have settled very happily in Cheddar with their three daughters Flora, Martha and Agnes.******************************************* ************************************************************************ Issy's musical career may have been forever limited to roadying for David, had it not been for a chance hearing of Norfolk squeezer, Tony Hall’s sublime accompaniments on Nic Jones’ iconic album Penguin Eggs. It was something of a ‘must have’ moment. David, to her everlasting gratitude, gave Issy her first melodeon for Christmas 1997 and within a year she was playing in her first ceilidh band. The Couple began playing together as a duo shortly after that.'*********************************************************** ************************************************************************** They were joined in 2006 by cellist Kate Riaz and together the trio have recorded two albums on the Wild Goose label, Legends & Lovers and The Waiting. "That Issy is a first rate tunesmith - and a fine player - has been a well kept secret for some time (check out Lark Rise). Her song writing too deserves our admiration. So accomplished is she and so complete is her empathy with the tradition that she can turn out a song today that would convince even the most tedious purist that it had been hand down over the centuries. Song For A Young Man is exquisite, simple and deeply moving. This album is a delight" ANDY KERSHAW, BBC Radio 3.******************************** ************************************************************************** As well as composing and performing, Issy is a popular and experienced melodeon tutor, teaching both one to one from her home in Cheddar and at festival and workshops all over the country. She will be back at Witney again in November 2010.******************** ************************************************************************** Another , less well known of Issy's talents is Appalachian Flatfooting! and she has recently started teaching this energetic and exciting form of percussive traditional dance.

Issy and David usually perform with superb cellist Kate Riaz. Issy and David also have a great dance band called RAPSCALLION, which comprises Issy on melodeons, David on guitar and bouzouki, Nigel Hall on mandolin and guest fiddlers John Dipper, John Dudley and Matt Norman. They play mostly traditional English material with a smattering of Issy's original tunes. Contact Issy to book them in the Bristol/South West area issy.emeney@zen.co.uk
