Istituto Europeo offers a wide range of Italian language, music, art, and history courses as well as a great internship program! Students come for as little as two weeks to up to one year to study and live in Italy's Renaissance city.



Campus Life
The IE campus is located on Via del Parione in the historic center of Florence. Overlooking Piazza Santa Trinità, the school is steps away from the Arno River and a 10 minute walk to the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral - the infamous Duomo. The school is on the second floor of a large palazzo and is composed of classrooms and music practice rooms. The student lounge is always full of students relaxing, planning extra-curricular activities, trips, and checking e-mail. Each day Istituto Europeo offers a student activity ranging from afternoon trips to Pisa or Siena, lunches in a traditional Florentine restaurant, showings of Italian films, to concerts offered by our talented students. We also offer many weekend day-trips to places like Venice, the Cinque Terre, and Chianti.

Classes at Istituto Europeo
Italian lessons are offered each morning from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM for all levels ranging from Beginner to Advanced. The teaching method of the Italian language course, based on the most innovative concepts of language instruction, gives students the opportunity to live the language on all levels and learn its spoken and written usage. Attention is placed both on the correct use of grammar and syntax as well as on the use of everyday language. All our teachers are mother tongue and fully qualified to teach Italian to foreigners and the small size of our classrooms with an average of 8-9 students per class (max 12), guarantees the right attention to each student. The afternoons are filled with other culture courses like art, history, music, and private Italian lessons. Each session begins every four weeks and we offer classes year round.

Internship Program

IE interns work at companies based on their interests. Typically interns do a combination of Italian lessons in the morning and interning in the afternoon, but every intern is different! Some students have worked at art galleries, soccer camps, hotels, sports facilities, wine production facilities, and fashion institutes.

Music Department

Istituto Europeo offers many music courses including music history, opera, vocal technique, and a variety of instrumental courses. IE holds a monthly recital for all music students. All music department teachers are accomplished musicians active in many organizations in the Florence area.
