Sazplayer Nyofu Tyson, an LA native met Bulgarian flamenco guitarist Bobby Solakov and singer Cristobal Osorio from Sevilla in early 2007, when the three of them were participants in the Cuatro Caminos Flamenco production “Viaje Mediterraneo por Flamenco”. Nyofu, with an extensive background in jazz and Turkish music, had long wanted to fuse the saz and Turkish melodies with flamenco, and that idea clicked with Bobby and Cristobal. They started by creating a Spanish remake of the 90’s Turkish pop hit “At Gitsin”, now called “Dejala” and went on to record a 4 Song EP produced by josef blocker. Since their successful live debut at the legendary Temple Bar, iST/West has performed to enthusiastic audiences at World Festival of Sacred Music and the Leventine Cultural Center, featuring a variety of vocalists and dancers. Their repertoire draws on Nyofu and Bobby's vast musical backgrounds, going seamlessly from Turkish covers to fusion originals, from belly dancing into straight-up Flamenco. This blend is reflected in their name; iST (pronounced "east") is for Istanbul, a city where various cultures have met each other through the millennia. Look for iST/West to make its voice heard in the world of Flamenco Fusion!......(TR) iST/West grubun kurucusu olan Los Angelesli caz müzisyeni ve saz sanatçısı NYOFU TYSON, Bulgar asıllı gitarist BOBBY SOLAKOV ve İspanyol Flamenko şarkıcısı CRISTOBAL OSORIO, Cuatro Caminos Flamenco’nun “Viaje Mediterraneo” adlı şov’una katılırken birbirler ile tanıştılar. Batı ve Doğu ezgilerini birleştirerek dünya müziği yapan iST/West, İspanyolca , Türkçe ve İnglizce şarkı ve türküler icra ederken aynı zamanda dansçılarıyla da seyredenleri büyülüyor. İstanbul'un kısaltması olarak kullandığı "iST" aynı zamanda İngilizce'de Doğu anlamına gelen east'in okunuşu. Dolayısıyla iST/West adı hem İstanbul'a gönderme yapıyor hem de grubun yaptığı orijinal müzik türüne değinerek doğu ve batı kelimelerini çağrıştırıyor. iST/West sahnelerde etnik müzik icra etmekle birlikte Flamenko Fusion tarzı yepyeni bir yorumla Los Angeles sahnelerinde büyük ilgi görüyor. Gruba katılan bas, perküsyon, bağlama gibi diğer enstrümanlar ve İspanyol dansçılar, oryantal yapan dansözlerle birlikte görkemli bir şölen sunuyor. iST/West 'in repertuarında yer alan birçok Türkçe şarkının yanında öne çıkan Türkçe/İspanyolca "At Gitsin/Dejala" ve "Daha Yeni Anladım" isimli parçalar yeni yılda dijital ortamda internet üzerinden yayınlanarak mp3 çalarları ve cep telefonlarını şenlendirecek.......(ES)¡Flamenco se encuentra con el Saz Turco en este exitoso grupo musical! Tocador de Saz Nyofu Tyson, nacido en Los Ángeles, conoce al guitarrista flamenco Bobby Solakov de Bulgaria y el cantaor Cristóbal Osorio de Sevilla en 2007 cuando todos participaron en la obra Viaje Mediterráneo por Flamenco producida por Cuatro Caminos Arts & Flamenco. Nyofu tiene una extensa formación en Jazz y música Turca tradicional. Siempre había querido hacer una fusión de Saz con melodías Turcas y flamencas. Esta idea les intereso a Bobby y Cristóbal. Comenzaron a grabar la famosa canción de pop Turca At Gitsin la cual en Español le llaman Déjala. Y han grabado un disco con cuatro temas mas con la producción de Josef Blocker. Desde su exitoso debut en Temple Bar, iST/West se a presentado en El Festival de Música Mundial del Sagrado Corazón y Leventine Centro Cultural con diferentes cantaores flamencos y bailaores. El repertorio del grupo viene de la gran variedad musical que ambos Nyofu y Bobby tienen en sus repertorios, moviéndose entre música Turca, música de baile occidental hasta el flamenco. Esta fusión se refleja es su nombre iST/West, proviniendo de Istambul/Estambul, una cuidad donde varias culturas se han encontrado desde la antigüedad. No se pierda a iST/West entre la música del mundo y fusión flamenca. .. .. .. ..
