Sounds Like
An aural interpretation of intangible things that become beautiful when greatly augmented.
The convoluted and then amplified sound of the many terrible things that fill broken minds and their constant struggle for a faint and unconvincing illusion of balance and serenity.
The grinding, invisible sounds left by an infinite amount of vacuums reshaping the infinite amount of dynamic realities that fold over every corners of this universe.
The immutable friction left at the wake of the passing of time through the absolute vastness of the gulf that is infinity and everything that stands outside of this nonspatial continuum.
The stentorian hum emanating from an unfathomly far point beyond the human experience.
A familiar configuration of elements plaguing all post-modern artistic currents passed their golden age. Yet another recycled, mediocre and lazy musical project marketing type thing some found ways to convince themselves and their entourage of its quality through poorly mimicked aesthetics from greater works. A convoluted and delusional excuse for the cult of an empty, ignorant and undeserving personality. The only art in this is the art of lying to the reflection in the mirror. The act of eating candy coated shit and pretending that the core is chocolate. A mere byproduct of the death of emancipation. The loss of freedom for a pointless illusion of undefined safety transcending the material world and sipping into the unconscious, rotting the artistic endeavor and the human experience all together for the profit of hype, instant gratification, ignorance and all that is profoundly mediocre.
Since 1999, Iszoloscope has been pushing the abstract conceptualization of isolation and its induced altered states of consciousness into a powerful, ominous, and immersive world of dark sonic aesthetic that can be called its very own. Seamlessly bending stylistic constraints by creating a fusion of industrial, electro-acoustic, ambient, rhythmic noise, psy-trance and break-core; this artistic endeavor sets an exceptional standard in hybrid electronic music.
Establishing itself as an experimental music project in the late nineties on the radiophonic landscape of Ottawa, Canada; Iszoloscope quickly gathered momentum through weekly broadcasts and renditions at local alternative electronic music events. In 2001, Iszoloscope gained world-wide attention performing at the German underground music festival Maschinenfest and releasing its debut album, "Coagulating Wreckage", on Belgium's Spectre Records.
The next year marked the release of the ambient / musique concrète album "Aquifère" on the conceptual label Nautilus. Following this, Iszoloscope supported a successful American tour with Swedish project Tarmvred after developing into a blend of industrial noise and break beats haunted by elaborate sound beds and granulated choir work.
As of Today, Iszoloscope has remixed countless artists, apeared on dozens compilations, produced 3 more full length albums on the German label Ant-Zen ("Au Seuil du Néant", "Les Gorges Des Limbes", and "The Audient Void") along with several EPs and collaborations on the European labels YB-70, Ad Noiseam, and Spectre Records. Iszoloscope has also executed 5 successful European tours, and a myriad of shows at international events across the planet from Australia to Japan, to Europe and North America.
