Welcome to my Myspace: Italo Cunha, born in Brasilia, Brazil (1992), is a up and coming jazz guitarist, vocalist, producer and musical director who quickly gained recognition in his home-country receiving awards such as 1st Prize Festbandas(2004), Musical Revelation at The Toque de Classe Institute in 2005, the youngest recipient ever of a Contemporary Musical Education Degree from The Toque de Classe Institute, The Guitar Department Award (2011), The Jimi Hendrix Award (2010), 3rd Prize in the International Guitar Competition of Souza Lima/Berklee College of Music at the age of 16, Semi-Finalist of 2011 and 2012 Yamaha Six String Theory Guitar Competition, graduated from Berklee College of Music in a Jazz Guitar Performance Degree (2012) as well as several appearances on television, newspapers, magazines, radios in Norway, Brazil, Dominican Republic and USA. Italo has been performing professionally since the age of 12 and have toured several countries with his music such as Brazil, Norway, Dominican Republic and USA. Since the age of 16 he attended Berklee College of Music on a scholarship, graduating at age 20. He had the opportunity to work in or out of the school with many great artists, such as Marc Johnson, Mark Walker, Hal Crook, Lee Ritenour, Dave Santoro, Leo Blanco, Greg Osby, Mark Turner, Ivan Lins, Terri Lyne Carrington and many more. Currently, Italo is on the jazz label Jazz Revelation Records for the 2nd Consecutive year. He also has recorded for Paramount Pictures Studio.

Welcome to my MySpace!

My name is Italo Cunha. I am 18 years old and I am a Jazz Guitarist/ Composer/ Arranger/ Student/ Teacher. I was born and raised in Brasilia, Brazil and I currently attend The Berklee College of Music on a scholarship. Born in 1992, in a musical family, I started playing piano when I was 4 years old and guitar when I was 9. By the age of 12 I was performing professionally with local musicians. -Won 1st prize at Festbandas in 2004

-Won Musical Revelation at The Toque de Classe Institute in 2005

-Received a Contemporary Musical Education Degree from The Toque de Classe Institute
(the youngest recipient ever) in 2007
-Was chosen by The Escola de Musica de Brasilia to play for the Minister of Education of Brazil as part of Young Artist Revelation.

-Received a Scholarship for the 5 week Berklee College of Music Summer Program in 2007

-Won 3rd prize in the International Guitar Competition of Souza Lima/Berklee College of Music at the age of 16

-Won the Jimi Hendrix Award on 2010

-Is part of Jazz Revelation Records 2010 New Release - Birds of Feather - with the original composition "Stories"

-Is on the American Radio "No Idle Frets Jazz Radio"
