All things art, anything creative really, dadaism, really good conversation with cool people, farting around on Protools, mammoths, Gojira, painting, drawing, sculpting, sewing, making jewelry, pounding silver on my anvil, photography, collect stones and mammoth ivory, Alice in Wonderland "I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it. That explains the trouble I'm always in...", museums, road trips, Chicago, Memphis, New Orleans, Sweden, have visited 32 states but am dying to go to South Dakota, riding the subway, writing, anthropology, anything out of the ordinary to an ethnocentric American, fiber art, playing Wii with my kid, dinnerplate dahlias and gardening in general, volleyball, my Dremel, Oregon sunstones. International Wenches Guild, Wench #771.
  • Music

My favorite band of all time is the Doors but I also love Live, Who, NIN, Cranberries, Grant Lee Buffalo, Erasure, Stiltskin, INXS, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Front 242, Nirvana (I still think of them as a new group,) Smithereens, The Royal Guardsmen, Annie Lennox, Elvis Costello, Meatloaf, Richard Cheese, kd Lang, Roy Orbison, Rolling Stones, Yaz, Yello, Slade, Primus, Creeps, DAD, Sugarcubes, Kermit the Frog, Scatman John, Blue Man Group, Pogues, Blues Brothers, Beautiful South, Scorpions, Cyndi Lauper, Louis Prima, Peter Murphey, Presidents of the United States of America, all kinds of new music that I never can keep up with, and Gorillaz, Evanesence, Black Eyed Peas (not the one about my lovely lady lumps, is that not the most friggin' retarded thing ever?)...okay...and lately I've been listening to this June Melby CD my daughter brought home. I listen to Swedish bands and sing along with my own version of the words that no one, American or Swede, would know what the hell I was saying. Oh, and I live in a Beatles household, although Elvis is quite revered here too. OO OO OO and I love to watch VH-1 We Are the 80s...didn't Culture Club just have the most bitchin' videos?

For some reason I seem to know the words to all of John Denver's songs. I can prove it.

  • Movies

Sid and Nancy, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, But I'm a Cheerleader, Bubba Ho-Tep, 21 Grams, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Blues Brothers, Spinal Tap (and all of Christopher Guest's mockumentaries), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Drop Dead Fred, Tideland, Erik the Viking, Un Chien Andalou, The Promise, Mirrormask, Steve Oedekerk and his sexy, sexy thumbs, You Never Can Tell, anything with Gene Kelly!! Freaks (crawling through the mud with knives in their teeth...), Immortal Beloved, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Naruto, Death Note, Death at a Funeral, Bladerunner, Shawshank Redemption, Truly Madly Deeply, Murder by Death, Supersize Me, Clue, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (and all of those other beautiful fighty arty movies) Big Fish, Amelie, The Muppet Show, The Merry Frolics of Satan, anything Monty Python (I LOVE Terry JONES!!! He can floor me with just that look, plus I have a thing for men in drag!) Harold and Maude, Fightclub, Mystery Men, What the bleep, anything Charlie Chaplin or Eddie Izzard (and then there was The Cat's Meow where Eddie Izzard PLAYED Charlie Chaplin, but did they make him wear brown contacts? cuz that didn't make sense because Charlie had blue eyes!) The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Jan Svankmajer stuff like Little Otik and Faust, Scarface (1932), Nightmare Before Christmas, any and all GODZILLA! (and my little plastic Godzilla action figures!) The Calimari Wrestler (nothing like a love scene between a woman and a giant squid), Edward Scissorhands, Casablanca, Being There, Mulholland Drive, Jean De Florette, Manon of the Spring, Men in Black, Electric Dreams ("Moles Moles Moles!") The Tall Guy (Jeff Goldblum in general), and the whole Star Wars and Harry Potter franchises.

Favorite actors are Benicio del Toro, Eddie Izzard, Gary Oldman, Miguel Ferrer, Jason Isaacs, Tim Curry, Alan Rickman, Christopher Walken, Jeff Goldblum, Tommy Lee Jones, Oliver Platt, Amy Sedaris, Geena Davis, Margaret Cho, Famke Janssen, Daryl Hannah, and since I'm female I automatically love Johnny Depp. I like people who are a little bit different and kinda quirky. So much more interesting than just plain ol' beautiful.

If you live in LA and like to watch movies but don't go to Eddie Brandt's Saturday Matinee, you are missing out! http://www.ebsmvideo.com/

  • Television

The best TV show of all time is Barney Miller! Steve Landesberg (Dietrich) makes me pee! He is my absolute hero since I was a kid. Something about a smart, funny guy in brown gabardine, mmm...yeah! I have an autographed picture of him on my bedroom door.

I also love The Simpsons, Family Guy, Discovery Channel, AMC and TCM. Anime like Naruto and Death Note, but a lot of stuff I like isn't actually on TV so I guess it doesn't count. Flapjack. :) Oh, and the Food Network.

  • Books

Mostly non-fiction, like anthropology books, medical books with lots of pictures, (I have a book that is just pictures of tumors,) history, supernatural, Joseph Campbell, Carl Jung, and funny stuff. The Far Side has been my favorite since Mr. Lurz's tenth grade biology class.

I also loved all of the old classics that everyone was forced to read in high school but I actually enjoyed because I'm a nerd, as well as Hunter S. Thompson, David Sedaris, and Amy Sedaris!!! Terry Pratchett (Discworld), Susan Gilman, and Laurie Notarro. Oh and Mary Roach's stuff, I'm always quoting from her book Stiff. My favorite book of all time is Tale of Two Cities (and you gotta love the cheesey, over-the-top movie starring Chris Sarandon). I collect the Trixie Belden series, and, OKAY! I will admit, I love Harry Potter. Oh yes, and I have read all of the Clan of the Cave Bear (Earth's Children) series, even though they are like cinder blocks and can injure you if you fall asleep while reading one.

The Time Traveler's Wife made me cry a little bit. Loved Running with Scissors and Dry by Augusten Burroughs. Movie sucked. Wicked was good too, and The Glass Castle. Jane Roberts. I also read manga, my favorites are Naruto (Kakashi is hhhot!) and Deathnote. Hellsing, Tri Gun, buncha others.

One of my favorite books ever was The Rum Diary. What happened to the movie they promised?

About me:

Looking for someone who would like to have a jar of bear shit. Serious inquiries only.

Who I'd like to meet:

Down-to-Earth folks who are full of ideas and don't follow the crowd, especially people who are interesting and different and kind. I always love to connect with a kindred spirit (feminists, creative souls, smart asses) so feel free to drop me a line.

OK, and if you are into Mobsters, Heroes, Dragon Wars, Vampires, or Rockstar apps, I'll add you just to help my game.

WEASEL!
