I call my sound " Fusion Music", because I am able to combine various elements from Hip-Hop, Pop and Reggae to give my music flow a different kind of blend. My style is for anyone who, likes inventive lyrics and stylistic flows.
Ch-n (Pronounce Chin) was born in Kingston, jamaica. At the age of 14 he became interested in Dee Jaying (Jamaican version of Rapping). Ch-n, who is now in his early 20's notes Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Buju Banton, Snoop Dog, Busta Rhymes,Elephant Man as some o f his major musical influences. When it comes to music , ch-n reports that, this is what I always wanted to do, music has always been part of my life (His father was DJ and his uncle was a dancehall artist name Chippy Ranks, who had a mildly successful music career in the early 90').
Ch-n love for music came around the same time he migrated from Kingston, Jamaica to Brooklyn, New York in the early part of 1991. This is the year that Buju Banton released his first song Browning, which he says, touched him in a very special way and forced him to start paying more attention to music. However, it was not until 1992 when he first found a copy of Snoop Dog Doggy Style Album that he came up with the idea to rap. In 1994 Ch-n went to back to Jamaica for summer and fell in love with the dancehall music. For the first time in years, I was surrounded by nothing but reggae music, and said that he learned every song on the radio that summer in Jamaica. When he returned to New York he decided to combine the musical styles of Dancehall Reggae and Hardcore Hip-hop that he now refers to as Fusion Music
Ch-n is a natural performer and has opened up for Badboy entertainment Loon,, Capleton and many others entertainers. He and has performed at two of Jamaica biggest reggae concert; Hype in the Park, and Hot Monday Live, and as well in the US: Irie Jamboree, The National Black Theatre, and Buffalo University to name a few.
He can also be seen on MTV Monday Night, Fight Klub. He as performed and done numerous interviews on both Irie Fm, and Fame FM in Jamaica as well as WBLK in Buffalo, New York. Ch-n released two tracks last year: the controversial song Direct Link (Ding Dong), which eventually got pull from the Jamaican airwave because of its shocking lyrical content, and couple with the fact that the entire song was cleverly composed by using 28 reggae artist names in a manner; they would not normally be used. His next single, Facin life with a blunt enjoyed decent play on the airwaves. You will know Ch-n songs immediately due to his signature phrase, Ch-n Baby, Di Maddest Thing Alive, which you can hear in the beginning of his songs. Ch-n is a great artist to work with because he is always open to new ideas and can make the necessary adjustments needed to make a track come alive, says Paul Helm producer and owner of Dynamic Studio. I enjoy making beats and writing with Ch-n, because he always going to challenge me both as a writer and producer. Whenever we work together he always comes up with strange concepts that I know should not work, but does, because of how he maneuvers around the mine fields state Road Rage.
This talented dancehall artist Chants to bouncy up-tempo tracks like, it's Ch-n, which he wrote and co-produced. Ch-n's spitfire cadence will keep your head noddin throughout the entire track. However, Ch-n talent doesn't stop there, he has also written for good friend and established Soca star Bud Wayne Ramsey for several years. He as also penned and co-produced one of Bud carnival songs, special vibes. After working behind the scenes writing and mentoring several upcoming Reggae and Hip-Hop artists and Dance group: Crazy Hype, Pete Hype, Spookie, FD, Moka Blast and taking off time from music to attend college, Ch-n decided last year that it was time for him to make his debut has a solo artist. Last year I spend my time improving my craft this year people will start to know Ch-n.
Since this year Ch-n has been working hard to help other upcoming artist with their music, whiles putting the latest touch on his newest project, "Damage Control", which he promises will take the Reggae and international community by storm. In the past ch-n has grace the page of many local news papers in both Jamaica and America while making appearances on several cable television shows.
