There are few truly great moments in history. The discovery of fire. The invention of the printing press. The fall of the Berlin Wall. And of course...the formation of the delectable ear candy that is IT'S HYSTERICAL.
How did this wonder of modern musicry come together? It all started when five young men from Norman, Oklahoma combined their powers to conjure up extraordinarily bizarre pop music, triggering a type of simultaneous booty shaking and bone crushing experience that no mortal thought possible.
The band has two self-released EPs, it’s latest being Ethero’s Phantastica. Recorded in a humble bedroom, the recordings capture the raw artistry of the band while still channeling a wonderful aura of music that belongs to no certain time or place. The rollicking, sing-along, cheerful (yet brooding) anthems assault you and make you desperately exclaim, “HEY! I think I’m enjoying this!” What you experience is not explainable, friend. It is only IT’S HYSTERICAL.
To fully comprehend the splendor of the aforementioned re-inventors of the musical wheel, one must see them in the flesh. IT’S HYSTERICAL takes the stage in a joyous stupor and pounds out their tunes as if each was their last. Austin Tackett of POP Magazine said it best, “[It's Hysterical] tags on enough eclectic, off the wall influences and damn good sense of humor to create a sound that is truly unique for indie poppers everywhere.”
Tackett added, “John Lennon wishes he was alive to see this.”
IT’S HYSTERICAL has played with the likes of Danielson and Man Man, but it won’t be long before other bands are bragging about playing with the likes of them.
