THE BAG LADIES are All Funked Up! A very well-established jazz funk band of experienced lively musicians based in Buckinghamshire playing across central and southern England. We have our own distinctive sound and have also been known to play the odd cover from the likes of Soulive, Jamiroquai, The Average White Band, The Brand New Heavies, James Brown, The James Taylor Quartet, Jill Scott and Incognito.
The heart of THE BAG LADIES funk is the groove, provided by John's awesome bass-lines, Andy's inspired drumming and Neil's cool rhythm guitar. Tony adds the most stylish hammond and keyboard playing you're likely to hear. These guys are seriously in the groove no holds barred! You'll notice a strong jazz influence both in our choice of material and in many of our arrangements especially when Ben (sax) and Phil (bone) take a break from funky horn riffs and reach out to the crowd with some razor-sharp improvisation. Katie crowns the THE BAG LADIES experience with her exquisitely soulful vocals and extrovert dance moves!.
