On his new album 'The Naked Flame', the legendary guitarist & vocalist Ivan Julian invokes the sounds of a scene that he explored intensely during the last decades, the scene of New York. Ivan Julian - original member from the bands 'Richard Hell & The Voidoids', The Outsets and Lovelies- traces in this album an overwhelming register, playing alien guitars and downtown psychedelia with raw sounds and wicked rhythms.
For the recording of this intense sound combustion, Ivan meets the wild power-trio Capsula from Spain, whom after sharing sessions & giving an explosive gig in New York, recorded as Ivan Julian & Capsula 12 unreleased Ivan Julian's songs that will be out in Europe - in CD and in a special edition on VINYL- through Bloody Hotsak Records.
Reveling the urgent rhythms on stabbing guitars that marked beforehand in 77 at CBGB, and rapidly beat during the 80's in New York, Ivan Julian magically blends, in THE NAKED FLAME, the post-punk fierceness with mad funk voodoo rhythms, resounding with the rough and tumble immediacy of East Village New York and beyond, in an exquisite feast that counts with the luxury collaboration of Al Maddy, Nick Tremulis, Matt Verta-Ray (Heavy Trash), Vincent DeNunzio, Austin Julian y Christina Campanella.
The songs of THE NAKED FLAME crosses the Rolling Stones obscurity via Hendrix (The Waves) walks through punk-funk shakes (Funky Beat In Siamese), mixes Led Zeppelin with acid (The Naked Flame) and provides psychedelic surprises (Constricted) in this astounding ramble.
