Ivan Pires graduated in Piano Performance from the School of Music and Fine Arts of Paraná, Brazil. He performs regularly in Brazil and Europe, both solo and with other musicians. He has performed in well-known Brazilian venues such as the Cecilia Meireles Hall in Rio de Janeiro, and the Amazonas Theatre in Manaus.
During the 500-year-discovery celebrations of Brazil, he performed at the Brazilian Embassy in Rome. In France, he has performed frequently, including at the Amphitheatre Richelieu at the Sorbonne, the "Maison du Brésil". He also had a recital at the Museum of the Discovery in Santarém, Portugal.
He has recorded interviews and recitals for several Brazilian television and radio programs, taking part in the "Programa do Jô", the principal talk-show programme in Brazil. Ivan was the director of the "Pianoforte Series", featuring local musicians as well as national and international artists in Curitiba.
Currently, he splits his professional life teaching pupils in London and Paris, also working as a recitalist and collaborative artist.
PRIVATE PERFORMANCES
