IVAW-New England's Blurbs |
About me:
We are made up of veterans who are concerned with the direction this country is going. All of our members are Vets who served during or after 9/11. There are chapters in Vermont and Mass, and we have members in Maine and New Hampshire.
We all love our country. We are all proud of our service.
We joined IVAW for different reasons. Some of us joined because they saw how this war is breaking the military in-two. Some of us see this war as the biggest military blunder that the U.S. could have made, and that we need to change course before we make things worse. Some of us feel that the reasons which led us into this conflict were dishonest and possibly fabricated, and would like to see the administration held accountable. A few of us feel that the toll on the civilian population is unacceptable, and that we are the cause of their misery.
Of course there are members who oppose this war because they had a change of conscience during or after their enlistment and feel now that war is not the answer.
With so many people turning against this war, and for such a variety of valid reasons, it begets the question then “why aren’t YOU speaking up?” I believe that soldiers could have the loudest voice in ending this war, but until we get more people who can BE brave and step-up to the challenge, their voices of reason will be drowned out by those who currently dominate the debate, and are hurting it. All of us took an oath to “uphold and defend the constitution”, and that is what we are doing now.
FYI- IVAW is a 501(C)3 organisation and can NOT endorse ANY candidate, party, or platform. That said, I approve everybody to be friends-regardless of their stated party or platform- so long as I can see that they are NOT spam or try to use this group page to endorse their own agenda. I want our name to get out there and you don't do that by staying home! If you catch anybody please let me know. Thanks!

Who I'd like to meet:
Any Veteran who is willing to make a difference. The very fact that you served adds weight to everything you say, and makes people listen. We need you.
We also need supporters and volunteers to help with events and logistics. We can't do this alone!
