uptempo sound is heavily acid infiltrated
whith much techno and tribal stuff
with the odd scratch here and there
any kind of music may come into play
ranging from 'normal' music
like rock,pop,country to
'i dunno what you would call that..'
and 'what the f' is he doing?'
biography:
ivo was born in 1975 in ol' eastern germany.
in 1981 he was 'exchanged' and started living in west germany.
with early roots in hip hop he started to work as a dj in 1991.
after a year in the US he came back from new york state in 1993
and discovered a weird thing called electronic music or 'techno'.
he began to buy jungle records and later acid tunes.
1994 was really wild with the big raves running in the HANNOMAG where djs like timo maas, asem&aki, steve mason and many others played.
in 1995 after finishing school he started to play house/techno in public
using the homemade event 'klubhaus' with his best friends.
changing local residencies followed including meeting warren d. in 1996
in the very popular 'cafe europa' who was resident there together
with andre michelle, stefan born and jeremy gurl.
things got really wild with being part of the cafe specially the 'Church of House'
afterhour on sunday which could go on to 21:00 on sundays.
after the closing of the cafe by officials ivo got started playing over
in the underground 'neuroserve' where he met gipetto.
inbetween there where a few other spaces to play like the 'cafe stahlblau'
and warren took over the residency of timo maas in the 'musicbox'
(timo thanks again your a great guy).
meanwhile the neuroserve was a lot of fun to be with as it was
like a small family
and an institution for the area
as one of the few clubs where detroit orientated sound was played
as well as an output for the few small independent labels
which were run by local artists at that time.
eventually the club had to close(with a sweet little razzia), too.
ivo had the idea to start a company to organize parties
and do bookings
together with tomas aka gipetto from the old neuroserve.
ivo's skills in graphics design and later programming
helped to form the trademark *arted with the reputation it got today.
meanwhile many different places where played. *arted was formed in 2000 with gipetto being employed as the main booker.
at the same time they supported the 'trakt'.
after that one shut down *arted ran their own parties in the druckluft, waldfrieden and supporting other locations including the NATURE ONE('00/'01).
unfortunally ivo had to part from gipetto in late 2000.
he was a promoter and supporter of many events in that time.
as well as spinning in the 'waldfrieden' which is mainly psytrance/goa orientated.
he played the chilloutzone most of the time
and enjoyed the total musical freedom.
same goes for the 'electromorph' parties
which focused to merge techno and industrial sound.
but it seemed stur and rene iwer where planning to finally open up their own club.
in 2003 the 'labor' opended after a hard year of preperation.
two parties each week continually(razzia nr.3 btw) but closed down
after one year exactly.
after that things got a lot calmer again.
inbetween *arted managed to have the remix of one of warren's tracks
released by monoid with a LOT of help from sven dedek who also did the remix
(your the MAN sven! :D )
later ivo took off three years appearing as a dj due to private reasons.
in the end of 2007 ivo received the eventoperator(IHK) certificate.
in 2008 a new club opened its doors called 'TRONIX'
ivo did the light design and is tech. lead for the TRONIX
as well as spinning there once in a while.
now the TRONIX is up and running for more then a year.
currently ivo is working on achieving more certificates for work,
fixing up his studio with further missing components and
also revitalizing the NeuroSurf! event series
to give artist who played for the old neuroserve e.V.
a platform of reappearance.
the most inspiring quote ivo heard from one of his best friends:
"I don't know anyone else who did so much for techno!
If there would be a party thats 200km away and a chinch cable is missing
he would jump in his car and bring it there..."
maybe he should name his first album "the driver"?

Am 07.11. präsentieren Timeless Events und rheinTime Entertainment wieder mal einen Leckerbissen für die Freunde der elektronischen Tanzmusik zu Beginn der kälteren Wintermonate. Der Cocoon Live Act Johannes Heil macht wieder Halt im Kölner Underground Club der Elektroküche. Der Frankfurter Ausnahmeproduzent steht seit Jahren für Versponnenheit, Fantasie und Individualität in seiner Musik. Johannes schwimmt mit seiner Musik gerne gegen den Strom, aber vor allem stilistisch vielfältig! Auch verbindet er seine Produktionen immer wieder mit subtilen Worten und Bildern, ob Vocals oder Titel, Techno darf auch eine Aussage haben, solange sie nicht aufgezwungen wird. Tracks wie “Paranoid Dancer“ oder “Hitmachine“ werden wohl auch noch in 10 Jahren als Klassiker gelten, und seine Alben “Heilstyle“ oder “Reality to Midi“ sind wohl in fast jedem Plattenschrank eines Techno Dj’s zu finden! Johannes Heils ständige Weiterentwicklung als Produzent über die Jahre ist nicht wegdiskutierbar und macht dem Technokonsument Spaß auf der Tanzfläche und beim Hören! Wir dürfen gespannt sein, was er dieses Mal für uns im Gepäck hat!
Auf Johannes Heil einstimmen wird an diesem Abend Cotek, welches das Pseudonuem der drei rheinTime Entertainment Verantwortlichen und Elektroküchen Residents Jagger, Chisee und Dompe sind. Die drei starten gerade mit dem eigenen Label, rheinTime Records und eigenen Produktionen auf Labels wie Circus, Amanzing und Gam Recordings durch und spielen in verschiedenen Kombinationen immer öfters als Dj Team unter den Namen “Cotek“!
