Hakkımda: did i mention that i used to be a scientist? i was doing genetic engineering. i got fired. it's a long story why. a lot of factors contributed. mostly, i don't think i was a very good politician in my youth.
i am pretty mild mannered. someone once told me that if i got any more mellow, i'd be dead. one should not confuse this with laziness. to me, mellow is a state of mind. laziness is a state of being.
i am really into music. and recording. i have a little studio called the
i do a radio show with a bunch of my friends. you can check it out here:
or search for 'creot radio' in itunes podcasts (i'm the mistress of creot).
let's see...what else? i'm really into riding bikes. i'm morally opposed to owning a car. i just got a little rickashaw for my bike so my little dog can ride in it. my dog is the cutest little dude.
i live in minnesota now, but i've lived lots of places...austin, seattle, san diego, la, madison, san antonio, vacaville, tulsa. i guess you could say i have a restless heart.
i also have a weak spot for the underdog. for people who go against the odds and win. but even more, for those who go against the odds and fail. that's where all the real lessons are. all of life's mysteries are wrapped in a beautiful puzzle that a lot of people never have time for.
i am a fighter, deep down. alot of people don't notice. because i don't fight to win. i fight to get better.
winning is sometimes losing. and losing is sometimes winning. but it doesn't always sink in right away. it's best not to put too much weight on the judge's scores. scoring systems are generally simple linear models that don't mirror reality.
Kimle tanışmak isterim: unconventional people, people who make their own rules, musicians, artists, scientists, people who ride bikes, dog people, people with restless hearts and minds, writers, shoe salespersons, thrifty people, people from all over, entrepreneurs, movers and shakers, mellow people, funny people, people who like to dance, people who like to read, geeks, knitters.

If you're around on Thursday, December 10th, we are playing a show at Mario's Keller Bar. I don't know if you've been there, but it's a very cool place. It's a comfortable space, the room sounds great and they have a stellar beer selection.
Also, we will be playing ALL NIGHT! We'll play some funky, bluesy, and soulful music. We'll project live video onto a 9 ft screen. We'll play some older material that hasn't been heard in awhile, as well as some brand new songs that've never been heard. All bets are off!! We'd love it if you'd come down and listen/party with us!

I just wanted to stop by and wish you a happy Friday! May the weekend bring you fun adventures, relaxation, and total contentment :)
I was going to go camping this weekend, but this is definitely NOT camping weather. So me and some friends are gonna go check out Dueling Pianos. Those guys are amazing - they can play just about any song that's been on the radio between 1950 and 2005.
Anyways, I wanted to let you know about a show we have @ Station 4 on Friday, October 16th. We are debuting a series of one time only performance art pieces. This one is called "AN OBJECT TO CRAVE". Live music and visuals based on a short story about life, love, loss, fantasy, obsession and death.
Another group of mine, The Magnetrons, which plays an exciting and innovative Livetronica set (i.e. STS9, Disco Biscuits, The Histronic) will also be playing. The night will be full of creative, interesting, high-energy music, good drinks and good times.
Here's the info:
Blood Root Mother - "An Object to Crave" w/ The Magnetrons & Thought Thieves Friday, October 16th Station 4 201 E 4th St St Paul, MN 55101 9pm / $5 / 18+
I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time yesterday. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a video of a tune called Run Bobby Run:
Blood Root Mother will be playing at Trocaderos in Minneapolis on Friday, June 26th. I cannot stress enough how awesome this show will be. We're playing with three of the sweetest local rock bands: Claret, Niobium and Casanatra. If you haven't heard these guys, check them out immediately! Please come to this show!!
I recommend coming during happy hour for two for one drinks along with free buffet, which is delicious. We'll be hanging out at Trocs all night, so come by and chill/party with us :)
Please come out and support some great local music! Music starts at 9:30pm and we should go on around midnight. Invite your friends, pile into a car (or a party bus), and together we will make this one of the highlights of the summer :)
We appreciate that you're doing your own thing and glad that you're our friend!
I wanted to share an insight that I had recently. Blood Root Mother really believe in the power of music. Genuine music transcends all limitations and boundaries, and happens when musicians and listeners are communicating with one another on the deepest level possible. In a society overcome by an obsession with flashy images and stale radio hits, we seek to do something that shakes the foundation of the status quo. Since the dawn of human civilization, music has been about sharing humanity and truly connecting with others. So stay connected with us, and join us on our journey.
Peace, Elliot
The artistic activity does not lie in art itself as such. It penetrates into a deeper world in which all art forms flow together, and in which the harmony of soul and cosmos in the nothing has its outcome in reality. -Bruce Lee
What's up? Just wanted to let you know about our charity show @ Hard Rock Cafe next Saturday (december 6th). We're gonna play some bluesy, funky music that's not on any of our recordings, and it will be a really fun show! Plus, it's for a really good cause. Hope you can make it out.
Hey, you're invited to my show coming up this Friday, the 10th of October, at 331 Club in NE Mpls. Music starts at 9:30, and there's no cover! Alicia Wiley opens, and my good friend Jim O'Neill plays as well. Awesome venue, hope you can make it.
