A mishmash of country pop and ambient moody rock, with a touch of looping for good measure.
To say Ivy Rossiter's musical influences are hardly in vogue would be to say you haven't noticed a recent resurgence in Doc Marten boots, angsty idealism, and guitar-driven girl pop.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of PJ Harvey, Ani Difranco and Fiona Apple, Ivy's songwriting examines life through the self-conscious eyes of a passionate young woman in an engaging collision of punk rock roots and a newly discovered infatuation for country music.
Accompanied by the 'Little Isles' band (Tom Broome on drums and Jonathan Burgess on bass), Ivy's self-produced debut EP is an uncut gem in Auckland's often-predictable singer-songwriter landscape.
Here are some old videos. Now I play electric with a couple of pedals and a pretty Vox AC15. It's very heavy. Applications for amplifier carriers being accepted now. You might get free beer.
