Bio
JSATJ aka 'Jay Serrao and The Juice' or 'Jay Serrao, Al, Tim, Jack' are an independent London band that play Hard Rock. They formed to re-introduce originality and mysticism in an increasingly processed and manufactured music scene. With influences ranging from Old School American blues, British Invasion Heavy Metal to Modern American hard rock, the band has been very aptly described as 'the immaculate concoction of Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Rage Against The Machine' 'they have harnessed a sound that is paired with the term 'Rock Gods'' After touring the US, India and the Middle-east between 2008 to 2010, they played their biggest gig in London to 12000 fans along with Idlewild and Scouting For Girls. They are currently working on their '5 part concept' album called 'Mumbai To Michigan' which chronicles their tours and travels as a band. 2 parts have been released in 2010 and is digitally available worldwide. Jay Serrao and The Juice are also known as The Juice and are from London. Their sound is described as bluesy, funky, sexy, hard rock which is an immaculate concoction of Led Zeppelin, Rage against the machine, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Queens of the Stone Age.
They prefer their genre to be known as ‘Mature Hard Rock’. Their independently funded, brand new album ‘BLOOD FOR WATER’, digitally released worldwide in April 2007, was eagerly received by fans spanning the globe, citing tracks such as “Stolen Generation”, “Shooting Stars” & “Catch My Drift?” for particular praise.
Some of the reviews are
'Never before at the club has a band had a standing ovation from a mere soundcheck,
but on 14th Aug 2004, that is what happened.'
'Singer Jay possesses a voice that could curdle milk with it's power, and it combined well with Jack's Jimmy Page-esque riffs and chops'
'Juice seemed to be a band that would be more at home on a festival stage, and if there is any justice in the world, it shall not be too long before this is the case'"
They have almost finished recording their 2nd album which will be called ‘Mumbai to Michigan’. The album chronicles the band’s tours of India and the US in 2008 and 2009.
Back from their USA Tour and recently opened the Ben and Jerry's festival in July 2010 where they supported Scouting For Girls and Idlewild, the boys are looking forward to Kuwaitstock and a mini-tour of India during the winter.
