IWO (pronounced EEE-VOH) is a Chicago based piano composer/performer/teacher.
She attended the prestigious Akademia Muzyczne (Academy of Music) in Cracow, Poland under the noted Polish composer & conductor Krzysztof Penderecki, and Professors Maria Szpineter, and Barbara Korytowska. There she studied Piano Performance and Music theory & Composition. After competing in many piano competitions, including the International Chopin Competition, she began a career as concert pianist in Central & Eastern Europe.
After immigrating to the USA, her musical interests further expanded and she started composing in a more contemporary style sometimes referred to as “New Age” or “Cinema Music”. While not completely comfortable with either term, she does appreciate the accessibility of the afore mentioned musical genres, but still keeps one foot solidly grounding in the structure and complex harmonies of the Classical music world. IWO believes that the timeless qualities associated with most of the Classical greats stems from not only their beautiful melodies, but also their underlying structure. While improvisations are one of the useful composition tools, she feels that listeners appreciate a well crafted “song” that they can listen to now, and over time.

Well,what's new? All I can say is it's freezing out and going to get worse before better. I hope that you are staying warm where you are as this is covering much of the US. I did get out today for a little while to stock up on staples and now plan on hibernating with plenty of hot chocolate,warm fire,good books,TV and a warm afghan. Iwo, at least you accomplished something constructive being a house prisoner, congraulations! Can't wait to hear it!! All I get is a headache from all the yelling!!! But, on the bright side, I'm tending the fire and staying nice & warm, woohoo! If I get desparate, may have to go for a ride to try to take a few photos, but hoping to just stay put today. Iwo, Brrr....it is cold here this a.m. with only 18 degrees, blowing winds and snow, snow everywhere with no end in sight! I guess I should be used to it after all these years, LOL! Iwo, Mornin'! Well, we got a fresh 11 inches of new snow yesterday and it's still comin' down like crazy! Guess I'm gonna have to get used to it, cause it certainly isn't going anywhere soon! We're still battling the flu bug around our house, think we just keep passing it around even though we clorox the dishes and disenfect the door knobs and faucets and computer keyboard....but it's got to get better soon, right?
