Bands had formed and fallen apart, and after time the two friends had found themselves together in a group that held no place for a creative or inspiring outlet at all. Playing material written by others, and having no freedom of expression, left them feeling unfulfilled. So the pair, unhappy with their direction, decided to break away and start creating their own music. Unhindered by any particular genre or conventional scene standard, the two friends created music that they could call their own. Not long after the groups inception, one of the friends had run into a bassist, who said he was playing with a couple of guys, and they were looking to join a band. The two friends, a drummer and guitarist, were now joined by a singer, bassist, and guitarist. So with a complete line-up, I, Your Liege was born, and thus their story began. Passion for music was the first connect amongst the newly formed group and they plunged into creating their sound. Drawing inspiration from many different genres and blending all the sounds they heard, a unique music developed. As the writing continued, the five members began to spend more time with each other, and a strong family bond formed with in the group. It didn’t take long before the group wrote enough material to step out of the practice room and into the spotlight in their native NYC. Playing throughout the five boroughs, and lower Westchester county, I, Your Liege started to make a name for itself. In a short period of time, they shared the stage with countless national acts, such as: Liegea, Vanna, Dying Fetus, Abigail Williams, Motionless in White, ect. As the groups material and live act began to tighten, they stepping into the studio and recorded a few single tracks to post online via myspace. “When we got some tunes up online, it really helped our band get a buzz in our area, and it wasn’t long before we started to get a fan base and show offers from all over New York.” Refining their sound and making countless revisions over the material they had written, the group was finally ready to step into the studio and begin recording their debut EP. I, Your Liege entered the studio with one thought in mind: perfection. It was this mind set that brought out the best in each member as they laid down track after track. The recording process was completed in December of 09’, and the mixing and mastering portion was finished in February of 10‘. The next step was to now get this recording into the hands of the industry, and for this I, Your Liege enlisted the help of Marco Barbieri from Salem Rose Music. Marco’s resume, and 20+ years of working in the music industry impressed the group, and they felt he was the right man for the job. A publishing deal was drawn up, and the two joined forces. “We couldn’t be happier working with Marco and his company. His experience and knowledge of the music industry speaks for itself, and we’re really excited about the future of I, Your Liege.” The groups goals are simple; secure a label, record, and tour tour tour! Five guys bringing their music to fans across the country and world, “Long live I, Your Liege…..”....
