Hi John. Thanks for the link and for actually listening to the lyrics...few do! Yes, Barbarians is anti-drug song of sorts, but its really more about the tedious worship of recreational drugs, and their supposedly life-affirming effect, that I saw in a lot of popular culture and which was sorely lacking in my own experience.

I would, however, find the idea of a 'drug-free-world' a frightening one, were it not so implausible. For all the lives that heroin has destroyed, penicillin has saved many millions more. I'm all for a rejection of crack and smack, but inhalers? cough syrup? prescription drugs? Are they really comparable to ecstasy and nicotine? This strikes me as a rather dangerous piece of luddism, that wilfully confuses (or ignores) the difference between drugs that are made for no other purpose than to hook people, and drugs that save peoples lives.

Anyway, sorry to be po faced, I know myspace isn't really the place for it! Thanks again for listening to the songs, I'm releasing four new ones in April which I will be putting up here. Hope you like.

Best,
Joe Hood
