KIDS LEARN WHEN they're having fun. When that fun includes a parent, guardian and/or other beloved adult figure to share in the experience, it becomes a cherished memory.
AS IZZY MOON, I write books for children ..and.. the adults who read to them — kids of all ages — the young as well as the young at heart. Filled with humor, colorful characters, descriptive language and eye-catching artwork, my books are designed to entertain while educating. Some of my tales are told in rhyme, like a song, relaying the story's message in a way that stirs emotion and boosts retention. For younger readers, words that are phonetically similar are often grouped to facilitate the learning and recognition of sounds. And, for all levels, there are just enough new terms introduced to be slightly challenging, aiding in vocabulary building, stimulating discussion and motivating the development and practice of dictionary skills. But, above all, my books are FUN, promising readers an amusing, rewarding and memorable experience they'll want to repeat time and time again.
A RESTLESS NATIVE of Southern California, I bring to my craft more than 25 years of experience as a professional writer in the fields of broadcasting, advertising, public relations, education, entertainment, internet and journalism. I wrote the full shooting scripts (including storyline and instructional content) for 30+ episodes of the award-winning children's TV series, "Spelling Plus," as well as promotional videos for the Very Special Arts Foundation of Orange County, CA; and employee safety and training videos for Universal Studios, Hollywood. I am a recipient of the Scripps-Howard Foundation Award for Journalistic Excellence and have served as media spokesperson promoting exhibits and educational programs for the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum (now the Museum of the American West) in Los Angeles. My articles have appeared in newspapers and magazines throughout the United States.
PLEASE, BEFRIEND THIS profile and come back often, for news on the development and availability of books and other items by Izzy Moon.
I AM CURRENTLY pitching and/or working on the following literary titles:
"Messy Bea"
"Please, Say What You Mean, Frederick Malcolm McBean!"
"My Friend Scooter: A Budgie Tale"
"A Pear Tree In Which You Will Never Find A Partridge"
