    Helping to provide a support network to survivors of abuse, working towards furthering the awareness as to the long term effects of child sexual abuse and removing the stigma, shame and guilt surrounding this subject. When will we take a stand!!! More than 25 per cent of all rapes recorded by the police are committed against children under 16 years of age. One per cent of children experienced sexual abuse by a parent or carer and another three per cent by another relative during childhood. Eleven per cent of children experience sexual abuse by people known but unrelated to them. Five per cent of children experience sexual abuse by an adult stranger or someone they have just met. Three-quarters of sexually abused children do not tell anyone about the abuse at the time, and around a third still have not told anyone about their experience(s) by early adulthood. Is it not time to bring real justice to this slaughter of innocence? All that is needed for evil to succeed is, that decent Human beings do nothing. About me:

Just to let everyone know that within the next month I will be closing down my Myspace account. You can find me on Facebook where I have just set up a support and awareness group. My name is IZZY HAMMOND and I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my page. My book was published on the 14th of May 2007. When I wrote my memoirs about the abuse I'd suffered as a child it tore me apart, but I hoped that by allowing it to be published it would help others who have found or will find themselves in a similar situation. I insisted that names and geographical locations were changed to protect the privacy of my children and grandchildren. To many my story may just be another 'misery memoir', to me and my family it is all too real. The support I have recieved so far is much appreciated and if you chose to buy the book I hope that you take something positive from it. "Someone to Watch over me", went straight into the top 10 and stayed there for 8 weeks the rights to publish have now been bought and has been released in Denmark and France. It has also been released in USA and Canada in the spring of 2008.
