Bio
..Izzy was still a student at the Guildhall of Music and Drama when she was snapped up and signed by Decca Records to make her debut album ‘Libera Me’... ..She pioneered the classics in a fresh and innovative way, working with Craig Leon as her producer, who has worked with Pavorotti, Sting, The Ramones, Blondie and many others... ..‘Libera Me’ made number one in the classical charts, and Izzy was nominated Best Female Artist in the Classical Brit Awards... ..In the year 2000, Izzy signed to Virgin’s Venture label and immediately teamed up with Craig Leon once again, to record her second album ‘Ascolta’ at Abbey Road Studios... .. ..‘Ascolta’ climbed to number one and Izzy became an International star with her biggest following in Japan and the Far East, where she performed in live concerts, TV and radio. .. She was then invited to sing at the Rugby League Cup Final at Twickenham to an audience of 78,000... ..Her third album ‘New Dawn’ was recorded in September 2002, reaching number one in the UK and other territories... ..As a result of Izzy’s overall success, her music has now been embraced as a new force in the ‘healing music’ market, for it’s spiritual and relaxing qualities... ..At this stage of Izzy’s career, she worked with other known artists such as Cliff Richard, Lianel Richie, Jemelia, Charlotte Church, Hayely Westera, Hear Say, Blue, Billie Pifer, Atomic Kitten to name a few, and after hearing ‘New Dawn’ Bryan Ferry invited Izzy as his support act for his stately homes tour... ..The USA were becoming interested, and she was invited to perform at the Crystal Cathedral in Los Angeles for a network TV transmission with a 20 million anticipated audience. She sang several solo numbers, and teamed up with Daniel Rodriguez. Izzy and Rodriguez also recorded songs in New York to be included on the US recording of ‘New Dawn’ and Roriguez’s new album... Izzy made her third appearance at the Royal Albert Hall in 2003 when she was part of a special BBC television series ‘Songs of Praise’ hosted by Alad Jones... ..She also makes regular appearances in the ITV Christmas Eve Specials with other British classical artists... ..At the beginning of 2004, Izzy performed at the opening ceremony in Nagoya, Japan for Expo. Based on her success, she returned the following year, where her voice and music complimented the theme which was based on arts, culture and world peace... ..In complete contrast to Izzy’s Classical career, Izzy has released two dance singles. Her first is from the highly acclaimed blockbuster Gladiator, entitled ‘Now we are free’ that hit the top 20 in the pop charts in 2005. The second, called ‘Eternity’ dubbed as one of the best dance tunes of 2006. .. ..Izzy has a special love for teaching singing and music, and has a number of very talented private students. In 2005, Izzy opened a ‘Rock Skool Academy’ in Spain for the younger generation. They have performed along side Izzy in a number of shows on the Costa Blanca including the ‘Moraira Festival’ in 2006... ..In May of 2006, Izzy directed her first show entitled ‘Intimate with Izzy’ accompanied by a cellist and pianist in a theatre close to where she lives and included her ‘Rock Skool Academy’. Thanks to the success and complete sell out, Izzy folllowed with a ‘Christmas Special’ entitled ‘Classical meets Contempory’ accompanied by a swing band. Yet again a complete sell out and a great end to an exciting year! In great demand on the Costa Blanca, in the summer of 2007, Izzy directed ‘Simply Classical’. They were magical outdoor events, dedicated to Pavarotti and that captivated an intimate audience who all shared an appreciation for the classics and celebrated Pavarotti’s life in style... ..Also in 2007, Izzy embarked on a new adventure as a guest entertainer on board the Crystal, Celebrity, Royal Carribean, Cunard and Asuka Cruise Lines. Starting in South America and travelling passed South Africa, Mexico, Hawaii, South East Asia, USA, and continuing all around the Mediteranian in the summer, Izzy completed her year singing on Cunard’s; Queen Victoria’s maiden voyage... ..Izzy also loves to support the Variety Club of Great Britain who raise money for children with special needs and M.A.B.S, based in Spain, who raise money for cancer patients. .. ..In contrast to Izzy’s classial albums, a musical album was launched at the beginning of 2007 entitled ‘Izzy Sings Musicals’ and is now on sale. .. .. ..Now 2008 has arrived, where Izzy will begin her year creatively in the studio with producer Craig Leon (www.craigleon.com) to collaborate on her fourth classical album... -

Hello, thanks add! - David Franks: Walkabout…1 year ago
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on MySpace...
Poem cum song 5 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (see my Blog for details):
STATE TO STATE
(TUNE:
C F G F
C F G F
C F G F
C F G F
F G F C
F G F C
F G F C
C F F F)
From Sydney Town,
In uni. break,
I drove out west
To earnings make
Onion picking,
On the fields
Of Echuca,
That year’s yields.
After day’s work,
From Y.H.A.,
A group of us
Would not delay
To walk on down
To the dirt rim
Of the Murray,
For a cool swim.
On one such day,
I do declare,
Some three of us
Had a big dare
To swim across,
From state to state,
The wide Murray -
I took the bait.
Yes, foolishly,
I took the bait -
A choice that I
Would come to hate,
For I almost
Did drown that date,
Making the swim
From state to state.
