    J-Thuro (a.k.a. Jason Williams) was born and raised in the heart of Brooklyn, on Flatbush Avenue in Westbury Court. J-Thuro's neighborhood was very multi-cultural, consisting of Guyanese, Jamaicans, Africans, Panamanians, Trinidadians, Haitians, and Puerto Ricans. Growing up in this diverse neighborhood exposed J-Thuro to a wide range of musical styles like Dancehall, Kompa, and Salsa. Listening to cultural music, as well as Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, Rock, Pop, and Classic Soul made J-Thuro develop his own truly unique style. With music in his blood (his brother, Crunch, played for Culture Quake Sound), J-Thuro began freestyling. He became known for his powerful lyrical skills. Because of his natural talent for freestyle lyrics, J-Thuro began writing down his thoughts. The more he wrote, the more he fell in love with his craft. "Writing gives me a sense of freedom," J-Thuro states. Once he recorded his first song in the studio, he immediately knew that he wanted to pursue a career in music. Since then, J-Thuro has performed at numerous venues and is quickly becoming an underground marvel. J-Thuro is on a fast-paced track to achieving his Hip-Hop dreams.
