J1 (formerly Hardcore J) and its predecessors have been streaming via Live365 since the late 90's. We have been broadcasting the Japanese pop format (JPOP) since 2001.

Every weekend, J1 updates its playlist with the latest releases from Japan. Combine that with a playlist that is over 3,000 tracks strong, you get the most variety of JPOP outside of Japan.

Unlike the other Japanese streams, we align with the charts. We play strictly JPOP, not just JPOP by artists who also do anime. We are not an anime station. There are other stations on the net that can fill that need. Since we align with the charts, you will hear a very interesting variety of music genre from hard rock, to soft ballads, to rap to the cute girlpop.

During the week, J1 plays a rigid playlist of current and recent hits.

On weekends, J1 lets out all of the stops with the Variety Weekend. On weekends, all 3000+ tracks in our library are fair game and you never know what we will play next. Also on weekends, look for the Hardcore J Top 40 Countdown Show which counts down Japan's hottest hits.
