About me:
Jeffrey Petrovitch / j_petro, since August of 2005, has been a contra dance caller traveling across the Mid-Atlantic and New England calling for contra dances. He is based in Spofford, New Hampshire, with the famous contra dance communities of New England: Nelson, New Hampshire and Greenfield Massachusetts to the North and South. In two years, he has called for over two hundred contra dances across the Mid-Atlantic and New England. Recent 2007 past performance include: Glenside, Pennsylvania; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; New York City, New York, Nelson, New Hampshire... “High-Energy! Modern and Rhythmic! On weekends, he can usually be found traveling across the Mid-Atlantic and New England calling for contra dances, from Nelson, New Hampshire to Glenside, Pennsylvania and more... On Mondays, he can usually be found in Nelson, New Hampshire, in the Monadnock Region, calling and dancing: one of the famous contra dance communities of New England -- over two hundred years of contra dancing. Nelson, New Hampshire is the heart of the contra dance community in New England. Nelson, New Hampshire is where he learned about calling and dancing. He is an active member of the contra dance community in New England: he is an active member and director of the Monadnock Folklore Society MFS located in Nelson, New Hampshire, a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of traditional dance and music in the Monadnock Region. The Monadnock Folklore Society sponsors the Monday and Saturday contra dance series in Nelson, New Hampshire. He is an active member and director of the Brattleboro Dawn Dance Committee located in Brattleboro, Vermont. The Brattleboro Dawn Dance Committee sponsors the dawn dance series in Brattleboro, Vermont. In his free time, he is a branding and marketing consultant and a freelance photographer.
