   About Jace

JACE'S CD STOLEN SEASON IS AVAILABLE FOR $10(shipping included) at

www.JACEMUSIC.com

Jason's main ambition is to be a songwriter.

Jason has little to no interest in being a recording artist. Stolen Season is meant to be a vehicle to get the tunes out there to make an impression and some connections. Breaking a career in songwriting takes many factors. One of which is luck, another is making contacts and who knows who. So if you or someone you know is looking for tunes to record or know someone who might, contact Jason. You never know who knows someone who knows someone who knows someone. Licensing is available of on songs. And Jason is always working on new music.

And now... to the bio stuff. :)

Jason was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. Like most, Jason was around music a great deal at an early age. His father, Dennis, founded the local band, Armor. Armor was a classic rock band in the vein of Led Zeppelin, Boston, Foreigner, Van Halen, etc. So very young, Jason was a rocker.

At age 3 Jason began playing drums ... constantly. His early aspirations were to become a rock drummer. Unfortunately, Jason was born about 10 years too late. At 13 he began piddling on the keyboards, no lessons, just noodling around a few chords, a few songs, no theory. Being able to play piano instead of just drums gave Jason a way to start writing songs (drummers generally make poor songwriters). By his mid teens Jason started focusing on writing. Most of the tunes were piano oriented soft rock, similar to Richard Marx, Bryan Adams, Diane Warren, and so on.

In his late teens Jason moved towards bass and acoustic guitar. The guitar gave him a new instrument with a whole new arena of dynamics. This moved him to write other styles of songs, overall a bit more upbeat, musically at least. He made dozens of home demos and, like many aspiring songwriters, sent them to numerous publishers, agents, record companies, and Taxi.

In 2000, the week of his 25th birthday, Jason moved to Orlando Florida to begin working as a piano player/entertainer at Jellyrolls Dueling Piano Bar on Walt Disney World's Boardwalk. At Jellyrolls, Jason learned a great deal about music theory, structure, arrangement, and harmony from the senior piano players. For the next couple of years Jason concentrated on his job as an entertainer at Jellyrolls and put his songwriting and recording on hold.

In December of 2002 he began work on the CD Stolen Season. Like many other projects there were delays on top of delays, but it was finally completed in September 2005.

Stolen Season is a classic rock/pop album. Jason wrote all songs and had immeasurable help in the production and guitar department from his father, Dennis, and brother, Trevor.

In 2008 Jason said goodbye to The Magic and moved back to his hometown of St. Louis.

(his last song on the jellyrolls stage can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qrCIArddas)

He is currently working on three separate projects: the next JACE CD, a CD of his fathers music, and a rock CD for Kivel Records. All of these projects SHOULD be completed sometime in 2009.

(we shall see) :) .

Jace... You are incredible. Your song Edge of Goodbye is sticking in my head. My wife loves the song. I am trying to get the band to try it but I believe the 80's style Harmonies is what really makes the song and we may not do it justice... but I'll let you know.

Windryder is going to go into the studio this fall and I would like very much if you would sing a song or two on the new CD as a sort of cameo of your voice.

We would totally dig it.

As always freinds to the end.
Ray
