Bio
Like ice cream on a sunny afternoon, Jaci Wisot and The Spectacles are always delicious. Unlike a pint of Ben & Jerry's however, indulgence still leaves you wanting. Jaci began her musical endeavors singing in church alongside her mother and was encouraged to follow what had come as naturally to her as breathing: singing. For college, Jaci found herself in musicians' Mecca of Nashville. After her first year there, Jaci recorded with producer Paul Buono, Firefly, her first EP. The next year, the EP's title song won her BMI and Yoko Ono's John Lennon Scholarship, a competitive award for young songwriters. Performing solo in singer/songwriter style, Jaci played piano and sang on coffee shop stages and by request for non-profit benefits until she caught the ears of guitarist and singer Ryan Ellis. Together the two collaborated and performed for a year. From the duo she had formed with Ellis in time grew a full band of Spectacles, with Jake Mills on bass and Casey Weissbuch on drums. Together the band will release Jaci's second EP, Jaci Wisot and the Spectacles. Moving from her Pennsylvania countryside home to Nashville eventually put a move on Jaci's style, too. With this EP, Jaci is finally revealing an unbridled alto soul and brushing shoulders with strong female vocalists like Feist, Regina Spektor, and Corrine Bailey Rae. Jaci plans to remain in Nashville to continue her pursuit of a musical dream. -
