Born in mid-Wales in 1986 and still going strong, (well, perhaps not that strong, slightly out of shape, really....) I started writing songs when I was fourteen, having already played guitar for a number of years. This was classical guitar, but that all changed when I started rediscovering stuff that had played around the house for years: Taj Mahal's "Fishin' Blues"; J.J. Cale's "Magnolia". Water down my back. Then I decided I wanted to do the same thing......... I'm still trying!
Currently at Oxford studying for a degree in English and gigging whenever possible, I have also played SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, as well as Green man festival, here in Britain. I was one of the six winners at this year's New Folk competition at Kerrville Folk Festival, Texas, and I recently received the PRS Foundation's ATOM award for new music.
Hope you like this stuff!
