UPDATE 2/22/09....OUCH...i'm tired,but i go to mendocino thursday with my WHOLE family,my wife,three daughters,grandchild and son-in-laws to chill out for a few days in a big house. next week i return for the taking of my art and furniture for the cabrillo college show opening 3/12...the gallery is near the center of campus and has great bay views..come to the opening...great food and drinks. 1/3 of the gallery will be an installation of my studio and frontroom (including my pink carol doda sign that hung at the condor club, broadway and columbus in SF for years ....art ,debris,antiques,from high end to low-life ...maybe the title should be "a life of decline"...kinda of fits our situation. i currently have work in a group show at santa cruz museum of art , a huge 130 person celebration of assemblage art,also here in town now at felix kulpa gallery a group show of assemblage artists. in LA i have pieces in march 6th La Luz de Jesus group show...and a couple of weeks ago put new stuff at the amazing Goldbug "oldtown pasadena" 22 e union...a place not to be missed! check out the AMAZINGLY beautiful N.HOOLYWOOD STORE...in Hong Kong (magazine stories are in my photos...i can't read what they say or don't say but the pics of my art look great!)lastly my house is half way done..painted, clean...empty looking....and when my stuff is at cabrillo we will have the rest done!!!!!!! and art will rule my world again! i can't wait!!!!!
UPDATE (Daisuke Obana) who's N.HOOLYWOOD label rocks Japan is showing his collection of my works...its on show at N HOOLYWOOD store Hong Kong... in his new "gallerie concept" N. Hoolywood store (address at jackhowe.net) i'm honoered to be Mister Hollywood's artist in N Hoolywood, and I'm indebted to Daisuke for all he is doing to show my work. Mr Hollywood is an amazing man...he deconstructed a multi=story LA WOODEN SLAT HOUSE!!!...shipped it to Tokyo and reconstructed it next to the Prada building!!! Its his Tokyo Mister Hollywood store,the yard is LA too ...and he drives a classic 60's american car. check out menstyle.com video on Daisuke Obana and his Mister Hollywood persona and store.
