The songs on the CD are from the last twenty years or more. They tell about my long journey from city life to rural Suffolk with a look back at schooldays. It's also been a journey from 'doing it myself' to doing it with some very talented musicians. The songs were recorded in June 2008 by Paul Mason at the studio he built in Bellingham, Northumberland - a small but perfect gem of a studio set in the beautiful countryside at the far North of England. Paul Mason and Fiona Lander aka Landermason are two wonderful musicians who together create something unique. Their own recordings are superb, so I asked if they would help me record some of my own songs. Amazingly they not only said yes, but the also added their own instrumentals. So thanks to both for making this possible.

Paul Mason and Fiona Lander did all the instrumentals on the CD on top of my acoustic guitar. Check out their website www.landermason.com I've played with Annette & David Sharman as 'Twinset and Pearl' for many years. More recently I've been playing with John Fodor (double-neck electric guitar) and Peter Lister or Peter Corp (both double bass players) as 'Double Take'.

Bio:

These songs are from my first album 'Ropers Green'. The title track is a love song to my house - as was 'Number Two Riverview', and to the lovely Suffolk/Essex borderlands. 'Doing it Myself' came many years ago after friends wouldn't teach me how to play guitar. All 8 songs on the CD were written since I moved to Suffolk from London. They were recorded with Paul Mason and Fiona Lander aka 'LanderMason' in Northumberland. If you'd like a copy of the CD let me know, and I appreciate feedback.
