I enjoy Fine Art, Writing, Interior Design, making my kilnformed glass, the NFL as a whole, but mostly Da Bears, Elliott Yamin; Really good purses shoes and jeans, Strong coffee accompanied by a small chocolate every afternoon, my amazing animals and mostly, my family.
Music
My taste in music is so all over the place it doesn't even make sense. As far as newer stuff goes, Elliott Yamin, Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse, Paolo Nutini. I'll love Luther Vandross forever, Freddie Jackson, Johnny Gill, George Benson, The Spinners, Earth Wind & Fire and sexy obscure old-school jams like Juicy Fruit by Mtume and Sex You Up by Color Me Badd. Oh, and Evelyn Champagne King and Rufus and Chaka Khan! In a totally different direction I dig Van Morrison, Eric Clapton and Rod Stewart, too. And Elvis has made my heart quiver as far back as I have memories. Etta James, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald - it's so all over the map. Someone else can figure out what to make of that crazy list; I'll just listen to what I love.
Movies
ALL the Godfather movies, but II is the best; Carlito's Way, Goodfellas, and Scarface. Don't think I'm deranged yet - I also love, The Way We Were, Kramer vs. Kramer and Bridges of Madison County!
Television
Never missed the Sopranos in all the seasons, can't wait for the new season of Prison Break to start, and Entourage is my guilty pleasure. And if it's football season, MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!

I think that tomorrow is one of my most favorite, feisty, beautiful, passionate, Elliott lovin', football rootin', Obama votin', girlies BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!! Hope you have a wonderful one hon;)
Ukrops!!! Pretty much an institution here. Very community oriented, great food, amazing customer service, etc. (Only thing is that they're Southern Baptists so they don't sell any alcohol. When they started up, many folks predicted that would be their downfall, but Richmonders pretty much don't stress over it - they'll do the major shopping at Ukrops and then go elsewhere for beer, wine, etc.)I always try to pack a Ukrops bag full of goodies for E when I see him (but I didn't get to do it this past weekend - bad me). The BEST chicken salad in the universe, and the only place in town that sells his Turkey Hill Iced tea. Don't get me started on the bakery! One final story- I remember my mom's first visit to the local store when they first started up: She went in and got a huge shopping cart full of stuff and after she went through the checkout line, she discovered she didn't have her checkbook or any cash. She apologized profusely and told them to put everything back and she'd just come back a little later.... They told her not to worry, just take it all home and bring a check back in the next time she was in the area!!! Needless to say, they made some loyal customers that day! They've grown from one small store to multiple shops all over the city, as well as a few out of town locations. Now I need to ask the obvious question - what makes you ask???
Jackie, omg, life's been a hell of a ride lately. Teens, swim team, work, etc. I'll be back, it's just going to take a while longer. Hope everybody's well. Life's good for me, just crazy!
Hey girl, Haven't heard from you for awhile (but I also haven't been on the boards much either.... so.... just wanted to pop by and say hi and hope you're having fun! Take care! Carol
I really enjoyed your blog. It's a beautiful tribute to your mother and a wonderful reminder for all of us who've lost our mothers to be thankful for what we had.
hey jackie, my husband (who is also a BIG Bears fan!) and I just got back from a Blackhawks game! That is a view from our hotel window!! I was lucky enough to have met Walter Payton the year before they won the super bowl! I have a picture of me with him that just this year i was able to get autographed by Connie Payton when she came to Fort Wayne!
okay, I realize that it would be blasphemous for a Bears fan to actually call themselves a Packers fan (even if just for the post season), but if the Pack makes it to Arizona I hope you'll cheer them on. Then after they win, I agree with you Farve can retire.
what? no write up this week about the playoff games. stupid Skins.....how bout them Jags! not looking forward to the Brady show, but Farve's got me pretty excited - keeping my fingers crossed. I'm off to Atlanta for a show so I'm hoping for a recap this weekend--- hint, hint :)
