Jackie Juno is a writer and creatrix of multi-media shows which combine her comedic, singing, dancing and artistic talents to full effect.
Although Birmingham-born, she has now made a full recovery, having moved to Devon in 1983, and spent years living close to the earth in a travelling community.
Rebelling at school paved the way for Art College, with its intensive curriculum of drug-taking and music appreciation, with a spot of painting thrown in.
Was entirely pissed off at the onset of Thatcherism and the CJB soon put a stop to gypsy-like lifestyle.
Her first stand-up comedy gig was on her 30th birthday, assisted by the supportive setting of Totnes Carnival and more than a few dry sherries.
She has since appeared at Glastonbury Festival, WOMAD, Hammersmith Palais, Hackney Empire, Melkweg Amsterdam and Gidleigh Village Hall. (Twice).
She currently lives on the edge of Dartmoor, and insanity, with her husband, young daughter and My Little Bloody Pony collection.
History: Singer with Witch, Vamp, Unlimited Dream Company, Invisible Opera Company of Tibet. Dancer with various bands including Kangaroo Moon, Global, Riven.
Currently solo performer with poetry, comedy, and multi-media shows Osmosis, Big Bang, One Big Mutha. Also music with Brian Abbott, Heretix - see website [and The Screaming Ab-Dabs (stupid stuff with a wide range of unusual hats)]
Purveyor of fine hand-made poetry book DARE (2007) and budget ACME Book of Poetry (2007); also The Illustrated and Terribly Clever Book of Nursery Rhymes for Troubled Times; OUTSPOKEN! (see blog) - also numerous cds, dvds, and bespoke poetry services for all occasions....[go to www.brianabbott.info for tons of info and clips of cds, dvd, etc etc. paypal service or ye olde fashioned cheque in poste thinge.] And c'mon, leave me a comment!!!

With me on vocals, tinkle tonk and riding crop, Brian Zero Abbott on guitarrrrrr, mystery persons on bass and drummage (tba) and Clive Buckland-Bork ..keyboards, french horn, weird Chinese instrument, homework and occasional fretting - and whatever else may take his fancy..... go llisten to live recordings from recent gigs including Exeter Phoenix supporting Nik Turner's Space Ritual (in my top friends innit)
how's things? - have been 'off-radar' for a while - long story - but am getting back in the ring with new tunes and new band - if you hear of any gigs please let me know!
Walk and touch peace every moment. Walk and touch happiness every moment. Each step brings a fresh breeze. Each step makes a flower bloom. Kiss the Earth with your feet. Bring the Earth your love and happiness. The Earth will be safe when we feel safe in ourselves. (Source: Kiss The Earth )
