Sounds Like
a beautiful mess of the musical simplicity of classic rock married with a taste of the digital age. His sound is unified by a distinct vocal delivery and artful, intelligent and, at times, graphically romantic lyrics.

Patient, humble, and focused, Jack Licata sits balanced on the edge of nationwide notoriety. Original songs like “The Addict,” (reviewed in Miami’s City Link/MetroMix) and “Deadly Lovely” (airplay on West Palm Beach’s The Buzz 103.1) are quickly paving the road for Jack’s success. But for now he is experiencing the local acclaim of being a Florida hometown hero, born and raised in a state typically known for the transience of tourism and tropical living. Jack represents his Florida roots on the infectiously catchy hit song, “Seasons Never Change (Florida),” a song that is as entertaining and insightful as it is effective in serving its purpose as a lead single – to make the listener want to hear more. Fortunately, for those who do want to hear more from Jack Licata there is a full length CD release in the works, and a 2008 EP release entitled, “This Too Could Be You” which is available at all of Jack’s live shows.
Jack is a self-taught musician who first picked up the guitar at age 13 and cites U2, Butch Walker, Billy Joel, Scott Weiland, and Led Zeppelin as influences. This combination of influences causes what he refers to as "Musical A.D.D." He asserts that his lyrics are “dark, yet accessible,” a combination that typically creates successful and famous artists that are able to keep their integrity and respect while reaching new levels of stardom.
Having gigged at South Florida venues such as Fat Cats (Ft. Lauderdale), O’Shea’s (West Palm Beach), The Irishmen (Boca Raton), Korrigan’s (Pompano Beach), The Dubliner (Boca Raton), The Hard Rock (Hollywood), and countless open mics, Jack has succeeded in making his name a recognizable one on the South Florida music scene. Performing at these venues has enabled Jack to build a resume that earned him some high profile shows, like performing at The Broward County Fair in 2002 and 2008 and also at Sunfest in 2001, which is one of Florida’s largest yearly music events, having had headliners such as Jason Mraz, Johnny Lang, Fiona Apple, and Ludacris in past years. Most recently, Jack was selected to play as part of the Gap's 'Born to Play Live' 40th Anniversary Celebration.
Always working on developing every aspect of his music career, Jack will be releasing a new EP titled "Transient Passenger” on October 6th, 2009 and is also intently focused on licensing his music for use in movies, commercials, and all other forms of placement. His sound seems almost tailor made for this sort of exposure. Reminding you that monetizing one’s music can be done, especially when the artist possesses real talent and knows how to channel it, which is why listening to Jack Licata beckons the feeling of hearing an artist on the brink of his big break.
